GRANT/PROGRAM
Certified Local Government Grant Program – Program
provides funds in the areas of: cultural resource surveys,
national register nominations, technical and planning
assistance, educational and interpretive programs and staffing
and training.
Keystone Historic Preservation Grant Program – Program
provides funding (in the categories of preservation, restoration
and rehabilitation) to nonprofit organizations and local
governments for capital improvements on historic resources
listed in or eligible for listing in the National Register of
Historic Places.

The program is supported by the Museum Assistance allocation that is eliminated from the FY 2011-2012
budget. Due to the elimination of funding, no applications will be accepted in FY 2011-2012.
Funding is designed to support a variety of museum, history, archives and historic preservation projects, as
well as local governments and nonprofit organizations. The 10 types of grants are:
Archives and Records Management Grants – Grants are
available in two different amounts to support projects in the
categories of Access and Preservation Programs and County
Records Improvement Programs. The grants are administered
on a competitive basis, and the awards are made annually based
on a peer review process.
Collections Management Project Grants – Grants are
available in two different amounts to support projects in the
categories of Educational and Interpretive Programs, Exhibit
Planning and Design, Management and Conservation. The
grants are administered on a competitive basis, and the awards
are made annually based on a peer review process.

2011-2012
Grant amounts up to and including $5,000
require no matching funds and amounts
over $5,000 and up to and including $15,000
require 50/50 matching funds. All applicants
must complete an e-grant application
accessed through the PHMC website.
