GRANTS, SCHOLARSHIPS, EMPLOYMENT AND LOANS
STATE PROGRAMS
Educational Assistance Program for PA National Guard
– Provide financial assistance for students who enter into a
service commitment with PA National Guard, typically for a
period of six years. The maximum award for a full-time student
is equivalent to the institution tuition or the PASSHE tuition
(100 percent) charged to a Pennsylvania resident, whichever is
less.
Horace Mann Bond-Leslie Pinckney Hill Scholarship
Program – Scholarship to graduates of Lincoln University and
Cheyney University of Pennsylvania who enter professional
programs in law, medicine, podiatry or dentistry or in selected
graduate program in public administration at Temple University,
Penn State University or the University of Pittsburgh.
Pennsylvania State Grant Program – Grants to eligible Pennsylvania
residents in need of financial aid to attend an approved
postsecondary school as an undergraduate student. Students
should apply for a Pennsylvania State Grant and Federal Pell
Grant by filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA) by the announced deadline date each academic year.
A State Grant Form is also required for first-time applicants.
• Full Time: Up to $4,348 per year for full-time students at a
Pennsylvania school or up to $555 at an out-of-state school
(veterans eligible for up to $ 740 at an out-of-state school).
• Part Time: Up to $2,174 per year for part-time students at a
Pennsylvania school or up to $277 at an out-of-state school
(veterans eligible for up to $370 at an out-of-state school).
• Veterans: Qualified veterans of the U. S. Armed Forces are
eligible for special consideration for a Pennsylvania State
Grant while enrolled at least half-time as an undergraduate
student.

Application Deadline – May 1 – immediately
preceding academic year for all renewal students
and for first-time applicants enrolled
in two or four year degree programs but not
attending a community college. August 1 is
the deadline for first-time applicants at community
colleges, hospital schools of nursing,
business, trade, and technical schools, or any
non-transfer program offered at any eligible
institution.

Aid (FAFSA) each year.

PENNSYLVANIA BOARDS & COMMISSIONS
Partnerships for Access to Higher Education (PATH)
– This program partners with non-profit organizations that
provide scholarships to eligible needy students. These scholarships
have the potential to be matched by PHEAA on a dollarfor-dollar
basis up to $2,500. To be eligible to receive a PHEAA
PATH Grant, you must first be awarded a scholarship or grant
by a participating PATH partner.
