What is your name? Are you a boy or a girl? My
name is Sam. I am a boy.
My name is Omar Khatib and I am a boy.
How old are you? When is your birthday? What
gifts do you want? I am 11. My birthday is
December 23. I would like a new bike and a
microscope.
I am also 11. My birthday is on the 14th of
November. I actually would like a new bike and a
new wii.
Do you have any brothers or sisters? How old
are they? How annoying are they? I have a sister
named Mimi. She is 9 years old. She is very,
very, very annoying. She always makes me play
the bad guys or the villains in games.
I have one older sister. She is 13 years old.
And she is also like a robot that never stops talking.
She is always bugging me.
What would you like to be when you grow up and
why? I want to be a marine biologist, because I
love the ocean, and I want to help all marine animals
and learn about them.
I have no idea, but maybe just maybe I will be
an engineer.
Describe a typical day in your life. I get up, get
dressed, and eat breakfast. I brush my teeth, put
on my shoes and get driven to school. At school,
we have Morning Meeting, do work, have recess,
do more work, have lunch, do even more work,
do our jobs, have Closing Circle, and go home.
At home I do homework, eat dinner, take a
shower, brush my teeth, read, and go to bed.
Well, a lot happens in one typical day but first
I go to school at 7:00 am and comeback home
and do my homework. On the weekends I go out
with my friends and chill.
What do you like to do in your free time? I like to
read, ride my bike, play Minecraft (a video game)
and watch TV. Minecraft is a game where you
fight monsters, go exploring in caves and build
houses.
I love to play video games and play outside in
the backyard.
What is your environment like? I live in the city,
but we are less than 20 miles from the ocean.
Oakland is a big city and it is hilly.
I also live in the city and it is very far from the
ocean. Palestine is very cool it is never cold and
never hot.
What is your favorite game, and why? My favorite
game is “Manhunt,” which is a lot like tag, except
when you’re tagged you become “It” along with
the person who tagged you. You play until there
is only one person left. I like it because you can
never let your guard down.
My favorite game is kickboxing because it
makes me strong and I feel alive while I am
fighting.
What holidays do you celebrate? Which is your
favorite? I celebrate all the Jewish holidays, but
Hanukah is my favorite because I get presents. I
like it because it is the only holiday that we celebrate
as a family.
I love all Muslim holidays, but my favorite is
Eid Al-Adha because my family gives me money.
What is your favorite animal? Have you ever seen
one? My favorite animal is the green sea turtle.
I saw one in an aquarium. It has a big shell, flippers,
big eyes and I like it.
I love all of the animals, but my favorite is a
shark and I did see one.
