What is your name? Are you a boy or a girl? I am
a boy; my name is Liam.
My name is Hilmi and I’m a boy.
How old are you? When is your birthday? I am
10 years old. I am going to be 11 on June 17. I
usually celebrate by having a slumber party with
my friends.
I am 10 years old. I’m going to be 11 on May
25. I celebrate it by making a big party.
Do you have any siblings, and if so, what are
their names? I have one younger brother; his
name is Rory, and he is seven years old. We get
along well most of the time. Rory and I like to
play Wii together. Do you know what Wii is?
I’m like you. I have 1 little brother. His name
is Amro. He is 5 years old. And yes, we have
Wii. We love it!
Do you have any pets, and if so what are they
and what are their names? I have 4 pets: one is
a leopard gecko; his name is Spots. Another pet
is a tabby cat and his name is Tiger. The other
two are society finches. They are hard to tell
apart, so they don’t have names.
No. I wish we had a tabby cat, but my mom
won’t let me have one.
How many grades do you have at your school,
and how many people in your class? Our school
goes from Bridge Kindergarten to 8th grade. My
class has 17 people in it, but there are two fifth
grade classes. There are two classes per grade
level at my school.
Our school goes from kindergarten to 6th
grade. I have 29 people in my class. The class
is very big. We have three sections for every
grade.
What are your favorite subjects in school? My
favorite subjects are science and recess. That’s
a joke. Recess isn’t a subject, but I like it nonethe-less.
Seriously, I like doing scientific experiments.
This year I got to make crystals, using
Borax. We also got to go to science camp and
study stream ecology. We tested water, studied
insects, and got to visit the ocean.
My favorite subject is science lab. We do tons
of experiments. One time we dissected a goat’s
heart.
Do you play any sports? I play soccer, futsal and
parkour. Futsal is indoor soccer but you can’t use
the walls. My team is called the Hawks and we
are undefeated. I also play on an outdoor soccer
team called Sting. I have to tryout for this team
because it is a competitive league. I mostly play
defense. We practice twice a week and have
games on the weekends. Parkour is a class that
I take where I do obstacle courses indoors at
a gym. We run, jump, vault, swing, climb, etc.
from one obstacle to another. The whole idea of
parkour is that instead of going around things,
you can go over them. This saves time, but you
have to be agile. My teacher Zach is super good
and he expects us to work hard. I go once a
week.
You are sooooo lucky! We don’t have that
here! But my friends and I go to the gym. We
swim, play basketball, and play tennis.
What is your favorite thing to do in your free
time? In my free time at school I like to look at
things on the computer, play with my friends,
and sometimes go outside and play soccer. At
home I like to play Wii, Minecraft, and build with
Legos. I play a lot with my brother or I have play
dates.
Sometimes at school I like to go to the library.
Our school’s library is different. It has bean bags,
sofas, and fun books. I go with my friends. At
