decorating the Christmas tree and the house. I<br />
love being with family and seeing other people.<br />
I love Thanksgiving because I get to see family<br />
and there is a lot of good food!<br />
I celebrate Easter, Christmas, Fitr, New<br />
Year’s , Adha and Valentine. I like Easter holiday<br />
because it’s the most fun and we have a lot of<br />
decorations.<br />
What’s the coldest weather you’ve ever been<br />
in? The coldest weather I’ve ever been in is at<br />
school. We have a big commercial kitchen and<br />
there is a walk-in freezer. When I went in there, it<br />
was –8°.<br />
The coldest weather I’ve ever been in was in<br />
my house. It was –1˚C.<br />
What are your favorite activities in the snow? My<br />
favorite thing to do in the snow is sledding. We<br />
usually make a track with jumps and sharp turns<br />
for the sleds. I like to saucer, too. This is a circular<br />
sled that starts you spinning like crazy and<br />
you get a ton of air!<br />
I like to make an angel, snowman and to have<br />
a fight with snowballs.<br />

What is your name? Are you a boy or a girl, and<br />
how old are you? My name is Nicola. I am a girl<br />
and I am 10.<br />
My name is Fadi. I am a boy and I am 11<br />
years old.<br />
Do you have any brothers or sisters, and if so,<br />
what are their names and ages? I have one older<br />
brother and his name is Oliver. He is 12 years<br />
old. We like to do a parkour class together and<br />
do it around the house sometimes.<br />
I have two sisters named Razan and Raneen.<br />
Razan is 8 years and Raneen is 6 years. I have<br />
one brother. His name is Firas and he is 15 years<br />
old.<br />
Do you have any pets, and if so, what kind? I<br />
have a rabbit named Bella. She is very cute and<br />
is 2 years old. We also have a cat named Francis.<br />
She is not quite as friendly.<br />
I don’t have any now but I had a rabbit.<br />
What is your favorite animal? My favorite animals<br />
are a moose, a platypus and a rabbit. I like<br />
moose because their antlers look funny. I like<br />
platypuses, because they are so awkward and<br />
look so weird and I like rabbits because they are<br />
cute and fluffy.<br />
My favorite animals are the horse and the dog<br />
because they are beautiful.<br />
What grade are you in and how many students<br />
are in your class? I’m in 5th grade and 17 kids<br />
are in my class.<br />
I’m in 5th grade and there are 29 kids in my<br />
class.<br />
Describe your school to me. Our campus is<br />
very big. Most of it is either garden or a place<br />
to run around. We have three main buildings—<br />
one is for Kindergarten through third grade.<br />
On the first floor are Kindergarten, first grade<br />
and the Spanish room for the younger kids. On<br />
the second floor is second and third grade, as<br />
well as Spanish for the upper grades and some<br />
offices. The fourth, fifth and sixth grades are in<br />
two different buildings right next to each other.<br />
There is also another building for all of the middle<br />
school classes.<br />
My school is named <strong>Friends</strong> from the Quakers.<br />
It’s so big and there are 6 buildings, one for<br />
kindergarten and one of the sixth and fifth grade<br />
and one for offices. There is one for the 1, 2 and<br />
3 grade. We have a big area and we, the boys,<br />
like to play a game called Yornesh.<br />
Do you play any sports, or do you play any<br />
musical instruments, and if so which ones? I do<br />
parkour, which is an urban ninja sport. We do it<br />
