Driving<br />

STEERING LOCK/CONTACT/STARTER SWITCH<br />

NEVER turn the ignition key to the rest position (0) or remove it<br />

while the vehicle is in motion. This may cause the steering wheel<br />

lock to engage.<br />

Position 0: rest position<br />

When the key is removed in this position the steering wheel can be locked.<br />

If the steering wheel is turned slightly the steering wheel will lock.<br />

Position A: accessories position<br />

Steering wheel unlocked. The key cannot be removed. Accessories, such as a<br />

radio, can be switched on.<br />

Position D: ignition turned on<br />

All power consumers can be switched on.<br />

Position S: starting<br />

When the key is released, it automatically returns to position D.<br />

If the engine is running, the start lock is switched on.<br />

GLOW SYSTEM<br />

If the ignition is on, the electronic unit determines the necessary pre and after glow<br />

time.<br />

The necessary pre- and after glow time depends on the temperature that is<br />

measured by the electronic unit of the engine management system.<br />

If the pre- or after glow time is activated by the electronic unit, this warning lamp on<br />

the instrument panel lights up.<br />
