4. Check whether the contact surfaces of the wheel rim and the drum brake are<br />

clean. Clean if necessary.<br />

5. Clean the wheel nuts and then apply a drop of oil between the thrust washer and<br />

the nut.<br />

6. Also apply a drop of oil to the first turn of the wheel-stud screw threads.<br />

7. Fit the wheel nuts and tighten them evenly according to the sequence in the<br />

illustration.<br />

For the specified tightening torque, see "TECHNICAL DATA".<br />

Note:<br />

Wheel nuts should always be tightened and retightened in cold condition.<br />

However, tightening wheel studs in extreme cold should be avoided.<br />

8. Check the tire pressure.<br />
