MM GHG-8: Solar Canopy on Parking Area.<br />
The Tenant shall construct a canopy or canopies over the<br />
employee parking area at the SCIG facility that shall be<br />
equipped with photovoltaic (PV) solar panels for generating<br />
on-site electrical power.<br />
Timing: Prior to <strong>and</strong> during Project construction <strong>and</strong><br />
throughout Project operation.<br />
Methods: This measure shall be incorporated into<br />
BNSF’s design <strong>and</strong> bid <strong>and</strong> contract specifications<br />
approved by LAHD. The contractor shall adhere to<br />
these specifications throughout construction phases.<br />
Enforcement shall include oversight by BNSF’s<br />
project/construction manager or designated building<br />
inspectors to ensure compliance with contract<br />
specifications.<br />
This measure shall also be incorporated into the lease<br />
agreements for ongoing maintenance. Bi-annual tenant<br />
compliance reports shall be supplied to the LAHD<br />
Environmental Management Division. Enforcement<br />
shall include oversight by the Real Estate Division. .<br />
MM GHG-9: Alternate Fuel Service Trucks. Timing: During Project operation. Implementation: BNSF<br />
The Tenant shall utilize only alternate-fuel service trucks<br />
within the SCIG facility.<br />
Methods: This measure shall be incorporated into the<br />
lease agreements. Bi-annual tenant compliance reports<br />
shall be supplied to the LAHD Environmental<br />
Management Division. Enforcement shall include<br />
oversight by the Real Estate Division.<br />
MM GHG-10: Carbon Offsets. Timing: During Project operation. Implementation: BNSF<br />
The Tenant shall offset 100% of projected on-site electricity<br />
consumption at the SCIG facility over the 50-year lease term<br />
from 2016 through 2066, <strong>and</strong> thus reduce GHG emissions by<br />
117,918 metric tons CO2e through the purchase of carbon<br />
offsets such as those available from the California Climate<br />
Action Registry’s Climate Action Reserve. In addition, when<br />
new GHG emission reduction technology becomes available,<br />
it will be reviewed under the same process as MM AQ-9<br />
which requires periodic reviews of emissions-reduction<br />
technology <strong>and</strong> implementation into SCIG operations once the<br />
technology is determined to be feasible.<br />
Methods: This measure shall be incorporated into the<br />

shall be supplied to the LAHD Environmental<br />
Management Division. Enforcement shall include<br />
oversight by the Real Estate Division. Annual staff<br />
