RESOLUTION
Upon the Retirement of Patricia Edwards
WHEREAS, Patricia Edwards began her employment in October 1994 as a Clerk in the
Community and Continuing Education Department; and transferred to the position of Clerk
Typist, Tech Prep in Community Services effective August 17, 1998; then became Office
Technologist I with the Center for Learning in Retirement, Community Education Services
effective January 1, 2003; and was reclassified as an Administrative Assistant II effective
July 1, 2007; and
WHEREAS, Pat has provided outstanding service, support, and dedication to the Center
for Learning in Retirement (CLR) program for many years and took pride in assisting the
program to grow from less than 200 members in 1993 to over 2,000 members in 2012; and
WHEREAS, she contributed significantly to the move and smooth transition of the CLR
program in 1999 from the Community Services area on the main campus to the Bell School Road
Center satellite campus; and
WHEREAS, Pat has assisted with the CLR mission of providing quality lifelong
learning for members age 50 years and older through diverse educational, cultural, and social
opportunities; and
WHEREAS, she has always shown her willingness to step in when and where needed to
provide exceptional service over the past 18 years with an empathetic and kind approach to her
work utilizing her exceptional people skills and big heart; and
WHEREAS, Pat has managed the coordination of countless numbers of trips and social
events for the educational enjoyment of the CLR members; and
WHEREAS, she will now have time to spend countless hours with her beloved
grandchildren and family, singing in the choir and sharing her musical talents, adding to her
special collections, and utilizing her creative talents to the fullest; and
THEREFORE, be it now resolved that Patricia Edwards take with her the gratitude and
best wishes of all her colleagues at Rock Valley College and the Board of Trustees; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the undersigned express their hope that her wellearned
retirement provides much happiness in the years that lie ahead;
