A comprehensive and participatory independent social and environmental impact assessment is
undertaken prior to establishing new plantings or operations,or expanding existing ones, and the
results incorporated into planning, management and operations.

Criterion 8.1
Growers and millers regularly monitor and review their activities and develop and implement
action plans that allow demonstrable continuous improvement in key operations.
PTTN has committed to a process of continuous improvement by adopting the RSPO P & C and getting
certified QMS ISO 9001 for and SMK3 for Langga Payung POM. An internal audit and management
review is done at least yearly to evaluate the systems. Action plans have been developed for the next
one to three years for continual improvement in key operations through quality objectives for the mill
and also can be implemented in estates, The continual improvement program are typically similar for
the mill and 3 estates, but the target date it depends on the estate capability and resources such as
reducing fossil fuel consumption, reducing usage of agrochemicals especially paraquat, and has plan to
return waste container to the vendor.
