Field Research on Sugarbeet Harvest in Yozgat<br />
The province of Yozgat was included in the study with the aim of identifying children<br />
working in the sugarbeet harvest. The survey and institutional interviews in Yozgat were<br />
conducted on 23-26 September 2011. During the field research, a land owner objected<br />
to members of the research team speaking in Kurdish to the labourers and informed the<br />
police. The research was halted due to members of the research team being taken into custody<br />
by the police. An application was made to the Governorship of Yozgat for permission<br />
to complete the research on 06-10 October 2011. However, no permission was granted<br />
and the research was not completed. Due to this limitation, only a total of 73 interviews<br />
were conducted with 49 children and 24 households in Yozgat. No institutional interviews<br />
were completed during the field research.<br />
