DIC (Driver Information
Centre)
DIC displays various types of information:
milometer, trip meter, warnings, indications,
trip computer information.
Instruments and controls
71
Milometer and trip meter
The milometer displays the distance travelled
in miles, and the trip meter in miles
and tenths of miles. It lights when the car
is unlocked or when the door is opened
and the car is unlocked. In other instances,
it lights with a press of the reset button.
If a message takes up two rows of text, it
overrides the milometer and trip meter.
• The engaged gear is displayed on the left
(cars with automatic transmission).
• The upper row displays trip computer
information while the lower row displays
the trip meter and milometer.
When a message is displayed:
If a message takes up two rows of text, it
overrides the milometer and trip meter.
• The symbol corresponding to the text
message is displayed on the left.
• The text message is displayed in the
centre.
The warnings and indications that can be
shown on the DIC are listed on page 249.
If there is more than one message, a plus
sign is shown to the left of the first message.
Each message is shown for 10 seconds.
DIC, control unit and display
Press the CLR button to acknowledge the
DIC message. The text and the symbol or
just the text disappears. If you acknowledge
a message but do not rectify the problem,
the message will be shown the next time the
car is started.
When the engine is switched off the warning/indicator
lights still active are displayed,
this is to remind the driver. At this point the
warning/indicator lights previously acknowledged
with the CLR button are also displayed.
In some of the car’s systems, such as the
alarm and rain sensor, you can make your
own settings. See page 75.
Reset button
The reset button is positioned immediately
to the left of the speedometer.
Reset the trip meter by pressing the reset
button once when the ignition is on.
