Undergraduate students are responsible for emptying locker contents by <strong>the</strong> last day <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> spring<br />

semester. Notices will be posted to remind students <strong>of</strong> this deadline. All contents will be removed after<br />

<strong>the</strong> deadline to make room for summer programs. All contents not removed by <strong>the</strong> posted date will<br />

become <strong>the</strong> property <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>School</strong> and may be discarded or donated.<br />

Graduate students are permitted year-long use <strong>of</strong> lockers in designated areas <strong>of</strong> both <strong>School</strong> buildings.<br />

Mail and Packages<br />

The <strong>School</strong> does not provide on-site mail service for students. <strong>Student</strong>s are discouraged from having<br />

personal mail sent to <strong>the</strong>m at <strong>the</strong> <strong>School</strong>; <strong>the</strong>se items will be returned to sender when received.<br />

Packages are permitted to be sent and are managed by <strong>the</strong> <strong>Student</strong> Affairs <strong>of</strong>fice. A student may request<br />

notification <strong>of</strong> package receipt prior to delivery; this is done on a per-package basis only.<br />

<strong>Student</strong>s may communicate with faculty members, MFA students, and administrative <strong>of</strong>fice staff<br />

through mailboxes located on <strong>the</strong> 2nd floor in B-Building. Faculty and MFA mailboxes are located in <strong>the</strong><br />

main building opposite student mailboxes on <strong>the</strong> second floor <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> B-Building. Administrative<br />

Mailboxes are located in <strong>the</strong> administrative wing on <strong>the</strong> 2nd floor <strong>of</strong> B-Building.<br />

MFA Policy on Copying Paintings<br />

To copy any painting in oils, from an easel, written permit must be obtained from <strong>the</strong> <strong>Museum</strong>. This<br />

permit must be shown to <strong>the</strong> guard in charge <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> gallery before <strong>the</strong> copyist begins work. Only<br />

paintings owned by <strong>the</strong> <strong>Museum</strong> may be copied. Consult <strong>the</strong> MFA regulations on copying paintings for<br />

more information.<br />

Parking<br />

Public transportation on <strong>the</strong> MBTA is recommended whenever possible. <strong>Student</strong>s receive a discounted<br />

rate <strong>of</strong> $14/day in <strong>the</strong> MFA parking garage and lot, located on <strong>Museum</strong> Road. <strong>Student</strong>s parking in <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>Museum</strong> lot must validate <strong>the</strong>ir parking ticket at <strong>the</strong> front desk <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>School</strong> in order to receive <strong>the</strong><br />

discounted rate. If paying with a credit card, payment can be made directly at <strong>the</strong> gate; if paying in cash<br />

<strong>the</strong> student must first go to electronic payment kiosks located at <strong>the</strong> West Wing entrance <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> MFA.<br />

On-street parking spaces around <strong>the</strong> <strong>School</strong> are limited and difficult to find. Most on-street parking in<br />

<strong>the</strong> area is resident parking or metered spaces. Use spaces marked “visitor parking,” metered spaces, or<br />

<strong>the</strong> City parking lots. <strong>Student</strong>s who live in <strong>the</strong> Fenway, Mission Hill, or o<strong>the</strong>r are neighborhoods may<br />

obtain a resident parking sticker at Boston City Hall. Note: vehicles must be registered and insured in <strong>the</strong><br />

State <strong>of</strong> Massachusetts in order to be eligible for a resident parking sticker.<br />

Recycling<br />

The <strong>Museum</strong> <strong>School</strong> has a school-wide recycling program that covers paper products and mixed-use<br />

products. Recycling bins are located on all floors <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> main building and Mission Hill Building.<br />

Guidelines for materials are posted at each <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> recycling stations. See <strong>the</strong> Campus Maps section <strong>of</strong><br />

this handbook for locations <strong>of</strong> recycling stations.<br />
