Remarks.— This fuze was introduced withthe 1914 <strong>and</strong> 1914 A<br />

patterns of H.E. Bhell to meet the dem<strong>and</strong> for a comparatively<br />

simply made n<strong>on</strong>-delay acti<strong>on</strong> percussi<strong>on</strong> fuze. —<br />

The following variati<strong>on</strong>s of this fuze have " been " found " ":<br />

G.Gr. Z.14 <strong>and</strong> Kz.Gr.Z.14 inwhich G <strong>and</strong> X probably<br />

st<strong>and</strong> for "Grosser" <strong>and</strong> "Kurzer" (large <strong>and</strong> short), which<br />

possibly refer tothe size of the exploder <strong>and</strong> the c<strong>on</strong>sequent length<br />

of the game (see page 138).<br />

Gr. Z. 14n.A. A variati<strong>on</strong> which has taken the place of the<br />

original Gr. Z.14 (see page 72).<br />

A red cap <strong>and</strong> Q or Vj> stamped <strong>on</strong> the head of this fuze<br />

indicate a det<strong>on</strong>ator of superior quality.
