Pat Tami, PLS Named NCEES Vice President<br />

Patrick J. Tami, P.L.S., was commissioned Western Zone vice president<br />

of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES)<br />

at the organization's 2008 Annual Meeting, held August 13–16 in Minneapolis.<br />

He will be the administrative officer of the Western Zone and a member of the<br />

NCEES Board of Directors for a two-year term.<br />

A resident of Roseville, <strong>California</strong>, Tami has been a member of the<br />

<strong>California</strong> Board for Professional Engineers and Land <strong>Surveyor</strong>s since 2006<br />

and is the current board president. He has served on the NCEES Committee<br />

on Uniform Procedures and Legislative Guidelines. He has also assisted with<br />

the development of NCEES and state-specific surveying examinations.<br />

A professional land surveyor for over 30 years, Tami is currently vice president<br />

of RBF Consulting, a design firm providing civil engineering, planning,<br />

and surveying services. He is a past president of the <strong>California</strong> Land <strong>Surveyor</strong>s<br />

Association, a past chair of the East Bay Municipal Engineers Association and<br />

the Bay Counties Association of Civil Engineers and Land <strong>Surveyor</strong>s, and a<br />

former member of the board of directors for the Western Federation of<br />

Professional <strong>Surveyor</strong>s.<br />

NCEES is a national nonprofit organization composed of engineering and<br />

surveying licensing boards representing all U.S. states, the District of<br />

Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. An accredited standards<br />

developer with the American National Standards Institute, NCEES develops, scores, and administers the examinations<br />

used for engineering and surveying licensure throughout the United States. NCEES also provides services facilitating<br />

professional mobility for licensed engineers and surveyors. Its headquarters is located in Clemson, South Carolina. ❖<br />
