Government Resoluon #239 (Renewal of the Salary Scheme and the Minimum Salary of Public Servants)<br />
of September 15, 2010, determines the salaries of public servants. The base salary of teachers ranges<br />
between 298,428 MNT for teachers with 1-5 years of work experience and 350,157 MNT for teachers with<br />
25 or more years of experience. In Table 1, we used the average of the salary range (324,292 MNT).<br />

In <strong>Mongolia</strong>, the total pay includes base salary, payment for addional teaching hours, supplements for<br />
funcons, rank supplement, and bonuses. We calculated the average total pay per month based on the<br />
interviews with 123 teachers collected in the <strong>UNICEF</strong> <strong>Mongolia</strong> Study on <strong>Teachers</strong>. Please see chapter 5<br />
(Figure 15 in this report) for the calculaon of the average total pay in <strong>Mongolia</strong>.<br />
