The Committee on Diversity Initiatives<br />

(CDI) will host the CDI Reunion from<br />

8:00 pm–9:00 pm on Saturday, March 10.<br />

Whether as a student, peer mentor, host<br />

mentor, speaker, or organizer, anyone<br />

who has ever been involved in the SOT<br />

Undergraduate Program is invited to attend.<br />

Visit with colleagues who have been involved<br />

in the program over the last 23 years, meet<br />

with program alums, and greet the undergraduate<br />

students who are attending the<br />

program this year. The Perry J. Gehring<br />

Diversity Student Travel Award will be<br />

Staller will perform for SOT<br />

<strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Meeting</strong> attendees<br />

prior to and after the SOT<br />

Award Ceremony. Glenn<br />

was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,<br />

and began studying the guitar at the age <strong>of</strong><br />

13. After moving to California, a chance<br />

meeting with renowned guitarist Jose Rey<br />

de la Torre led to classical guitar studies<br />

with Maestro Torres. Glenn later studied<br />

with pianist Julian White, jazz guitarist Bill<br />

Tapia, flamenco guitarist Chuscales, and<br />

guitarist/composer Dusan Bogdanovic at<br />

the San Francisco Conservatory <strong>of</strong> Music.<br />

The depth and breadth <strong>of</strong> his repertoire<br />

and his unique ability to integrate musical<br />

styles, from classical and contemporary<br />

to flamenco, Brazilian, Argentinean, and<br />

jazz, is a particular feature <strong>of</strong> his work. His<br />

repertoire ranges from Scarlatti and Bach<br />

to Gershwin, Debussy, Jobim, and Brubeck.<br />

He has appeared in equally diverse concert<br />

settings such as the Dean Lesher Center,<br />

Le Petit Trianon, Valley Forge Convention<br />

Center, Kennedy Center, Cowell Theater, and<br />

numerous wineries, vineyards, and resorts<br />

within the Bay Area, as well as performing<br />

on television and radio.<br />

The goal <strong>of</strong> the In Vitro <strong>Toxicology</strong> Lecture<br />

series is to feature important research using<br />

in vitro and alternative techniques to study<br />

basic mechanisms and to illustrate how<br />

these test methods benefit animal welfare by<br />

refining, reducing, and replacing animal use<br />

whenever it is feasible. Graduate students,<br />

undergraduates, postdoctoral scholars, and<br />

recipients <strong>of</strong> Colgate-Palmolive awards are<br />

among the guests at the In Vitro <strong>Toxicology</strong><br />

Lecture and Luncheon. Students and postdoctoral<br />

scholars register via the <strong>Annual</strong><br />

<strong>Meeting</strong> registration, and the $10 deposit<br />

will be returned upon entry to the event.<br />
