Malaysia’s productivity grew at a faster pace than many OECD countries. However, the productivity level can be further improved through automation, higher technology, R&D, as well as higher skills. 35. To drive the efficiency of the nation, the government has embarked on Value Management Analysis for all its public service projects and programmes. The benefits of the analysis and its long term implications are a 20% overall reduction in costs, an invaluable system that allows for the measurement of productivity and consistency as well as quality over time.
