What are restocking fees?
Restocking fees are paid by the consumer and paid to the fulfiller.
Restocking fees are applied if the consumer
• cancels an order
• returns the items in it
• fails to pick the order up within the time allowed (in which case, it is
automatically cancelled).
Restocking fees are designed to cover the inconvenience and expense
that a fulfiller experiences if they have to special order items.
Restocking fees must be applied to all items in a catalog, not to
individual items.
Restocking fees are charged as a percentage of each item’s purchase
price, not as a flat fee.
NOTE >
We strongly recommend that you do not charge restocking fees unless
they are absolutely necessary. Consumers often do not place orders once
they know that there are restocking fees in place.
