MEASURABLE<br />
BENCHMARKS<br />
Issue a policy statement requiring all new 30-day case<br />
plans to be completed in CPRS. Strengthen training and<br />
support <strong>of</strong> CPRS.<br />
Examine existing case plans to assure appropriate use <strong>of</strong><br />
data fields by case managers.<br />
Evaluation: Compare current numbers <strong>of</strong> Case Plans<br />
completed per month in CPRS and compare with the<br />
number <strong>of</strong> children entering care that same month.<br />
Conduct a structured assessment <strong>of</strong> quality on case plans in<br />
CPRS.<br />
5th Quarter: The State request to delete the 2nd and 3rd<br />
paragraphs above.<br />
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:<br />
1 st Quarter Report: A memo was issued July 2002 to all county DFCS Directors and Field Directors mandating the use <strong>of</strong> the Case<br />
Plan Reporting System. Statewide training <strong>of</strong> case managers in use <strong>of</strong> CPRS will conclude in February 2003. Method for measuring<br />
achievement: 1. The Internal Data System (IDS) will be used to compare number <strong>of</strong> children entering care with the number <strong>of</strong> case<br />
plans initiated in CPRS. Additionally, the case plan will be individualized, measurable, and focused on the permanency objective. 2. A<br />
tool to assess the quality <strong>of</strong> CPRS case plans with previously documented case plans may need to be developed. Actions to be taken<br />
next quarter: 1. Complete CPRS training by February 2003. 2. Develop tool to assess quality <strong>of</strong> CPRS case plans. 3. Begin monthly<br />
comparisons <strong>of</strong> IDS entries with CPRS case plans initiated. Use information gathered to determine need for technical assistance to<br />
specific counties.<br />
