Low birthweight – Less than 2,500 grams.<br />
Underweight – Moderate and severe – below minus two standard deviations from median weight<br />
for age of reference population; severe – below minus three standard deviations from median<br />
weight for age of reference population.<br />
Wasting – Moderate and severe – below minus two standard deviations from median weight for<br />
height of reference population.<br />
Stunting – Moderate and severe – below minus two standard deviations from median height for<br />
age of reference population.<br />
MAIN DATA SOURCES<br />
Low birthweight –Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS), Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys<br />
(MICS), other national household surveys and data from routine reporting systems.<br />
Breastfeeding – DHS, MICS and UNICEF.<br />
Underweight, wasting and stunting – DHS, MICS, World Health Organization (WHO) and<br />
UNICEF.<br />
Salt iodization – MICS, DHS and UNICEF.<br />
Vitamin A – UNICEF field offices and WHO.<br />
Vitamin A – Percentage of children aged 6-59 months who have received at least one high dose of<br />
