“I am a Latin American student,
from Bogota, Colombia and
I did nearly two years of
Medicine at a very recognised
university in my country.
After two years of studying, I
decided to study English in an
English-speaking country for
a year, as this is the best way
to actually learn the language.
When I arrived in Australia
(Sydney) I changed my mind
about going back to Colombia.
I did some research into the
courses that were available in
the best universities throughout
Australia and I came across the
University of Melbourne. It was
definitely the best decision I
made.
I heard about the Bachelor of Agriculture at
Trinity College where I did my Foundation
Year. What interested me the most about
the Bachelor of Agriculture was the study of
a number of different types of Agricultural
Systems, which depend on the design of
the landscape, land resources, climatic
conditions, and so forth. I chose this course
initially because my principal aim was to
be the producer and manager of a large
Beef Feedlot. At this stage though, I am
becoming more interested in global issues
including the production of food.”
