Additional copies<br />
(1) After approval <strong>of</strong> the thesis, and before conferment <strong>of</strong> the degree, the candidate must submit the text <strong>of</strong> the<br />
thesis in electronic format and the same text in a further two printed copies (unless special permission has<br />
been granted to submit fewer than two) which must comply with the following requirements:<br />
(a) the two printed copies must be bound between hard covers with a glued spine. The title <strong>of</strong> the thesis<br />
and the name <strong>of</strong> the candidate must appear on the cover as well as on the spine <strong>of</strong> each bound copy.<br />
(2) A candidate for the LLD degree whose thesis has been accepted is requested to submit, in addition to the<br />
additional number <strong>of</strong> copies stipulated in (1) above, a further bound copy which will be forwarded by the<br />
<strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> the Executive Dean to the library <strong>of</strong> the Appeal Court.<br />
It should be borne in mind that the degree will not be awarded unless the student complies with all the<br />
requirements, including the submission <strong>of</strong> the additional copies, before a date set by the <strong>University</strong>.<br />

Students must please ascertain that the electronic copy is not damaged and is readily accessible by the <strong>University</strong>.<br />
Re-admission after failure<br />
Doctor’s degrees<br />
No person may present himself/herself for the examination more than once, except with the special permission<br />
<strong>of</strong> Senate.<br />
If a candidate’s thesis is not accepted, one or more examination copies may, at the exclusive discretion <strong>of</strong> the <strong>University</strong>,<br />
be returned to the candidate after the lapse <strong>of</strong> one year. These copies remain the property <strong>of</strong> the <strong>University</strong>.<br />
<strong>Masters</strong> degrees<br />
No person may submit a dissertation or a dissertation <strong>of</strong> limited scope for examination more than once without the<br />
special permission <strong>of</strong> Senate. For the degrees MA in Clinical Psychology, MMus with specialisation in Performance,<br />
MEd with specialisation in Guidance and Counselling, as well as for Option 1 <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Masters</strong> degree in Industrial and<br />
Organisational Psychology, no person may repeat any part <strong>of</strong> the examination without the special permission <strong>of</strong> Senate.<br />
