On the march the salute will take the <strong>for</strong>m of "Eyes Rtght" or<br />
rEyes Left".<br />
SS . Officers from the rank of Sturefihrer (Lieut) upwards will: •<br />
be* SalUted on the Command of the SaIdin 1/c . partyvthe command will<br />
be "Eyes Right" followed by "At Ease"; when givin g this salute,<br />
-caps will be taken off. ' •<br />
.When a superior visits a place where work is in progress, the<br />
headdress will not be removed; prisoners will carry on with their<br />
task undisturbed.'Report..will:be . made - bY the 'leader of the escort<br />
and the <strong>for</strong>eman of the prisoners.<br />
When 'a superior enters the prisoners v quarters, the prisoner<br />
standing next to him will call attention . to . this by shoUting:'<br />
"Attention". The senior man in the room will report the number<br />
present ., and' all inmates will Come to attention. .<br />
All superiors entering the camp will be saluted as aMatter Of<br />
. principal. A superior on sentry-go outside the camp beyond the<br />
Wire fence-willnot be saluted..<br />

6. Billeting<br />
Prisoners in protective custody . will be housed in barracks.<br />
Each barrack block constitutes in itself a Company of Prisoners<br />
which is under the command of an SS NCO as their Coy Officer; he<br />
will appoint from among the barrack inmates one prisoner-Sgt and<br />
the requisite number of Corporals.<br />
Prisoner-Sgt and Cpls are appointed merely to keep order<br />
within their 'compound.. 'They receive their orders from the Coy<br />
Officer and are made responsible <strong>for</strong> en<strong>for</strong>cing these orders in<br />
all circumstances; they have strict orders to report to the Coy<br />
Officer all . prisoners who do not submit tO the prison discipline.<br />
Barrackqiine<br />
Billeting of prisoners in the barracks will be arranged by<br />
the Commander of the Protective Custody Camp or by his deputy..<br />
All barrack rooms other than those assigned to them are out of<br />
bounds to prisoners. A Prisoner-Sgt will be called to account<br />
if he permits the presence of an outside prisoner among personnel<br />
of his compound.<br />
Anybody changing, off his own bat, the place in the billet<br />
assigned to him 'will be punished.<br />
4moi1c1ng in billets is strictly prohibited. Fireplaces, wash<br />
places, and lavatories will be treated with the greatest care.<br />
On the Sound of Reveille prisoners will rise from their<br />
.sleeping places at once and tidy their beds and rooms; also the<br />
windows will be opened. The prisoner-Sgt and the Cpls will make<br />
.their morninL report to the Duty Officer of the Coy. After this,<br />
coffee will . be received.<br />
During the day prisoners will not use their beds without<br />
permission.<br />
Each prisoner will affix a label with his name to his bed.<br />
Prisoner-Sgts, furthermore, will 'display in a prominent<br />
place a nominal roll of personnel and an inventory of all public<br />
property in the room.<br />
Billets will at all, times be in an exemplary state of<br />
cleanliness. Prisoners rebelling against barrack Discipline or<br />
the Prisoner-Sgt will be reported..<br />
There will be a bath parade at least once in three weeks;.<br />
anybody evading a bath or failing to keep himself clean generally<br />
will be led to the bath under the supervision of SS men.<br />
