13. Public Property<br />
All objects whether in camp, in barracks or worn, on the<br />
body-Alio public property and as such will be treated with care,<br />
.cleaned and Mended in off-duty hours whenever necessary.<br />
'Whoever removes public property of any description from<br />
'its rightful place, wilfully destroys, thrOweswey; misuses or<br />
.alters etc. any of the a<strong>for</strong>esaid will he pUnishedand liable to<br />
Indemnification. In dertain cases the entire,coy. of prisoners<br />
(Gefineenenkómpanie) may be held •responsible..<br />
14. Camp MtAls.<br />
Every man.under protective custody is permitted to write<br />
2' letters or 2 postcards per month or receive the some from his<br />
relatives. Letters .must.be clearly written and easily legible;<br />
mail matters which are not in accordance with these requirements<br />
wili.not'be : sent off or deltiered. , Letters will contain matters<br />
of personal interest. r• .<br />
Anyone.empreseing - derogatory remarks in letters about the<br />
State and the government, the authorities and institutions Or who<br />
glorifies Marxist or , liberal leaders or parties, who imparts.<br />
in<strong>for</strong>mation relating to occurrences 'within' the concentration camp<br />
will be considered incorrigible and held responsible.<br />
All'outgoing . letters and postcards will be stamped and handed<br />
to the pomMander-Of:the-prisoners coy. unsealed.<br />
Parcels containing (clean) laundry can be delivered to<br />
prisoners twice monthly. In case parcels include foodstuff,<br />
alcohOlit . drinks, tobacco goodsi . marmist, jewidh or subversive<br />
writings, pamphlets,Alewspapers, photographic films, tools, knives<br />
or any other prohibited objects they will be confiscated. Civilian<br />
clothing will be handed over to' the clothing itOre(Effectenbdro).<br />
•Relatives must he in<strong>for</strong>med accordingly. No claims regarding<br />
return of oonfiscated goodewill. be entertained..<br />
Outgoing parcels will Contain laundry:only. Should this be<br />
very. dirty it 'must Undergo a preliminary Meshing. Objects which have<br />
been made 'whilst in temp may be 7taken . put when release . takes place<br />

A'Oharge of 10 Pfennig . will ' he made <strong>for</strong> the delivery of each<br />
• incoming pastel .(costs Of transport); relatives do not have to<br />

. Prisoners are permitted to receive a German daily newspaper.<br />
• Applications concerning orders'<strong>for</strong> . neivapapers Will be made in<br />
'Writing through the coy. Commander to the Commandant. Money <strong>for</strong><br />
newspapers will be payable . Only When the application has been<br />
granted,.<br />
- 15.. Monetary Matters<br />
Ii<br />
Money can be sent into camp only by way of postal orders or<br />
money orders . (Zahlkerte). Relatives will be in<strong>for</strong>med that money<br />
in &lel cannot be accepted by the camp Post Office. Cash Which has •<br />
been enclosed in letters and 'parcels, Contrary to these regulations,<br />
will be 'confiscated.. Whoever offers money to-a member of the SS<br />
will be placed in solitary confinement.<br />
Prisoners Money will be administered by the political<br />
section. Amounts of over RM: 15.-.will be deposited on the account<br />
of the prisoner concerned. The SS-Treasurer (Geldverwalter)<br />
will daily pay out all other amounts to the prisoners, Who are to<br />
sign <strong>for</strong> them personally in the postboOk. Deposits will be<br />
