An adN'ance on the football season<br />

However, the belief is tliat by the time<br />
this sees the light <strong>of</strong> day, the football<br />
season may be three or four weeks on<br />
its merry way.<br />
So, \%Titing in that spirit, the chances<br />
are that by now the quarterback situation<br />
has been determined, and Coach<br />
Ara Parseghian may or may not still<br />
be wishing that John Huarte had had<br />
another year <strong>of</strong> eligibility.<br />
It ^x-as known that split end Jack<br />
Snow had no more eligibility' . . . but<br />
this may be solved in another year as<br />
his younger brother Paul is now a<br />
freshman.<br />
Face it! Last year was a miracle<br />
season brought about by the passing<br />
<strong>of</strong> Huarte and the pass-recei\Tng <strong>of</strong><br />
Snow — plus the man'elous defensive<br />
work led by captain and middle linebacker<br />
Jim Carroll, who led the team<br />
in tackles-made.<br />

Going into the season, the team, the<br />
students and townspeople seemed to<br />
almost e.xpect it. ^^'hich, <strong>of</strong> course,<br />
was unfair.<br />
The attitude <strong>of</strong> the team could be<br />
gained by words <strong>of</strong> Captain Phil Sheridan,<br />
a senior, a tight end last yeair and<br />
right end this season (we now have<br />
