• To ensure the removal of rubble and environmental hazards through cash-forwork<br />
interventions.<br />
• Provide psycho-social counseling services to the affected population.<br />
3. EDUCATION<br />
The overall objective of Education Sector’s contingency plan is to restore normalcy in<br />
the lives of children, provide safe access and improved quality of education (including<br />
early learning, formal and non-formal education opportunities) in emergency situations<br />
in collaboration with partners and cross-sectoral stakeholders, ensuring Gender<br />
sensitivity in approach and activities.<br />
Specific Objectives<br />
• Resumption of formal education in safe environment for both girls and boys<br />
through reopening of existing schools or provision of alternative learning centers<br />
at disaster affected schools.<br />
• Restoration of education infrastructure and provision of consumable and nonconsumable<br />
school supplies.<br />
• Provide child-centered learning opportunities promoting a conducive learning<br />
environment.<br />
• Supporting school-age children, girls in particular, to regularly attend school.<br />
• Promotion of protective, child friendly, and gender responsive school<br />
environments.<br />
4. EMERGENCY SHELTER & NFIS<br />
Overall objectives of Emergency Shelter and NFI is to reduce the vulnerability and<br />
support the resilience of affected populations by providing basic emergency shelters<br />
and NFIs necessary for survival of disaster affected people, in a dignified manner, and<br />
prioritizing the most vulnerable populations ensuring Gender sensitivity in approach and<br />
activities.<br />
Specific Objectives<br />
• To provide adequate family emergency shelter and associated shelter NFI<br />
packages to displaced populations,<br />
• In close coordination with the CCCM sector, design and provide suitable support<br />
infrastructure for displaced settlements,<br />
