• Coordinate with WASH sector the provision of wash facilities, as well as with<br />

other relevant sectors, including Nutrition, Food, Health, Education, Protection<br />

and Community Restoration, ensuring the mainstreaming of cross-cutting issues.<br />

5. EMERGENCY TELECOMMUNICATIONS<br />

The overall objective is to provide efficient and reliable communication services to<br />

humanitarian community, thus ensuring timeliness and effectiveness of humanitarian<br />

response for saving lives in the event of a disaster, and the Presence of a code of<br />

conduct to avoid PSEA.<br />

Specific Objectives<br />

• To provide security telecommunication services.<br />

• To provide data communication (internet) services.<br />

6. FOOD SECURITY<br />

The food cluster aims to save lives, avert hunger and improve livelihoods of the people<br />

affected by disasters through provision of relief food assistance to meet their immediate<br />

food needs, and later initiate early recovery activities to enable these populations to<br />

rebuild their livelihoods, ensuring gender sensitivity in approach and activities.<br />

Specific Objectives<br />

• To provide life saving relief food assistance and conditional food support later on<br />

as an early recovery measure to help them rebuild their lives.<br />

7. HEALTH<br />

To support Government of Pakistan life saving efforts to promote and protect health<br />

and well-being of the affected population thereby minimizing mortality, morbidity and<br />

disability during a declared emergency by the UN and Government of Pakistan during<br />

the upcoming monsoon season.<br />

Specific Objectives<br />

• To ensure availability of appropriate relevant and competent human resources<br />

including managerial staff, doctors, paramedics, logistics and administrative staff.<br />

• To ensure timely, immediate assistance for the resiliency of the health facilities.<br />
