the <strong>School</strong>. In developing the “whole<br />

boy,” we remain committed to each<br />

student’s experience both in and out<br />

<strong>of</strong> the classroom.<br />

In honor <strong>of</strong> their son, 2012 graduate<br />

Joseph Bush, Shelby and Nell Bush have<br />

endowed a new fund designed to<br />

support and strengthen the efforts and<br />

impact <strong>of</strong> the <strong>St</strong>. Mark’s Community<br />

Service Program. The Bush Family Fund<br />

for Community Service will serve as a<br />

permanent resource for the terrific work<br />

throughout the Dallas community that<br />

Marksmen make possible daily.<br />

During his time at <strong>St</strong>. Mark’s, Joe<br />

served as the Head <strong>of</strong> McDonald’s<br />

Week and was instrumental in the<br />

annual Habitat for Humanity projects<br />

each year that he was in Upper <strong>School</strong>.<br />

In honor <strong>of</strong> his deep love for and<br />

commitment yo the service <strong>of</strong> others,<br />

this new fund will honor Joe’s dedicated<br />

efforts to serve the community during<br />

his time at <strong>St</strong>. Mark’s, and it will ensure<br />

that future generations <strong>of</strong> Marksmen<br />

have the same opportunity to make a<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>ound impact throughout the<br />

community outside 10600 Preston Road.<br />

Laura Day, the Director <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Hockaday/<strong>St</strong>. Mark’s Community<br />

Service Program, praised Joe’s impact:<br />

“Joe was a natural leader that did<br />

community service because it really<br />

mattered to him. He made real lasting<br />

relationships with everyone he encountered<br />

and was a great ambassador<br />

for <strong>St</strong>. Mark’s. Joe is a dedicated<br />

young man that will do great things<br />

for this world.”<br />

Supporting Campus Improvements<br />

Through The Centennial Challenge,<br />

the face <strong>of</strong> <strong>St</strong>. Mark’s has changed with<br />

the addition <strong>of</strong> Centennial Hall and the<br />

Robert K. H<strong>of</strong>fman Center. These beautiful,<br />

state-<strong>of</strong>-the-art, award-winning<br />

buildings have dramatically enhanced<br />

the teaching and learning environment<br />

for our teachers and students.<br />
