the School. In developing the “whole
boy,” we remain committed to each
student’s experience both in and out
of the classroom.
In honor of their son, 2012 graduate
Joseph Bush, Shelby and Nell Bush have
endowed a new fund designed to
support and strengthen the efforts and
impact of the St. Mark’s Community
Service Program. The Bush Family Fund
for Community Service will serve as a
permanent resource for the terrific work
throughout the Dallas community that
Marksmen make possible daily.
During his time at St. Mark’s, Joe
served as the Head of McDonald’s
Week and was instrumental in the
annual Habitat for Humanity projects
each year that he was in Upper School.
In honor of his deep love for and
commitment yo the service of others,
this new fund will honor Joe’s dedicated
efforts to serve the community during
his time at St. Mark’s, and it will ensure
that future generations of Marksmen
have the same opportunity to make a
profound impact throughout the
community outside 10600 Preston Road.
Laura Day, the Director of the
Hockaday/St. Mark’s Community
Service Program, praised Joe’s impact:
“Joe was a natural leader that did
community service because it really
mattered to him. He made real lasting
relationships with everyone he encountered
and was a great ambassador
for St. Mark’s. Joe is a dedicated
young man that will do great things
for this world.”
Supporting Campus Improvements
Through The Centennial Challenge,
the face of St. Mark’s has changed with
the addition of Centennial Hall and the
Robert K. Hoffman Center. These beautiful,
state-of-the-art, award-winning
buildings have dramatically enhanced
the teaching and learning environment
for our teachers and students.
