<strong>with</strong> behavioural, emotional and social development needs (30<br />
per cent) remembered their child attending such a review<br />
meeting compared to the young person’s recall.<br />
4.1.2 Usefulness <strong>of</strong> transition planning<br />
Almost three-quarters <strong>of</strong> young people who remembered<br />
attending a transition review meeting thought that it had been<br />
fairly or very useful (Figure 4.1). One in five young people,<br />
however, reported that the meeting was ‘not very useful’ or<br />
‘not at all useful’. No key differences were observed in relation<br />
to the usefulness <strong>of</strong> the transition planning meeting according<br />
to the type <strong>of</strong> school attended, whether the young person had<br />
a statement <strong>of</strong> SEN or indeed according to their SEN type.<br />
The transition planning review appears to have been more<br />
useful in terms <strong>of</strong> information provision rather than helping<br />
