Project Fashion highlights The new Istanbul outlet of the LC Waikiki fashion chain has a lighting system that is perfectly matched to the successful store concept. Lighting components from TridonicAtco ensure that the various lamps are all operated in accordance with the manufacturers’ specifications. Tailor-made light The French fashion chain LC Waikiki wows its customers not only with its exclusive clothing but also with unusual and aesthetically pleasing store concepts. All the 100 or so stores in France and throughout the world have lighting systems that are highly effective at displaying the merchandise in the best possible light. And the recently opened outlet in the Cevahir shopping centre in Istanbul is no exception. The lighting concept was designed and implemented here by Lamp83 Aydinlatma San.ve TIC.A.S from Kagithane together TridonicAtco ballasts guarantee high quality of light with the local architects Zirve Mimarlik, as in the other Turkish branches of LC Waikiki. Lamp83 is one of the leading Turkish luminaire manufacturers, specialising in designer product lines. The lighting solution itself is in keeping with the shop design that has proved so support in other LC Waikiki stores. Flexible accent lighting is provided by downlights equipped with metal halide lamps and OMBIS 70 W ballasts from TridonicAtco. The recessed luminaires can be easily tilted and swivelled to suit different displays or to highlight shelving. The relatively high illuminance of 1,500 lux ensures that customers focus on the merchandise. It also attracts attention, enticing customers into the shop and encouraging them to stay longer. with lines of light from strip lighting behind opal glass covers. PC PRO electronic ballasts from TridonicAtco ensure that the T8 36 W fluorescent lamps are operated in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and that they continue to perform well throughout their long lives. Great importance is attached to presenting the men’s, ladies’ and children’s clothing so they are shown in their natural colours. General lighting is provided by recessed downlights with compact fluorescent lamps and two-lamp EC 26 W ballasts from TridonicAtco, offering glare-free light with an illuminance of 800 lux. Thanks to the colour rendering index of almost 90, the merchandise appears almost as it would in natural daylight. Highlights for attracting attention At the top of the shelves are posters lit by halogen luminaires for added effect. The light from these luminaire has a high colour rendering index so the colours appear vibrant. Window displays are impressively segregated from the interior of the shop by high brightness levels to ensure that the passing public in the shopping centre stop to look in the window. To achieve this effect an illuminance of 2,000 lux is needed. Downlights equipped with metal halide lamps and OMBIS 150 W ballasts from TridonicAtco are used here. With this lighting the ever changing window display always looks its best.
