which generates pulses in a patented two-part cycle, powerCONTROL<br />
PCI ballasts create the ideal conditions for reliable ignition. Digital control<br />
<strong>technology</strong> cuts the restart time by up to 50 % and reduces EMC<br />
interference by up to 95 % compared with conventional solutions.<br />
powerCONTROL PCI units demonstrate their in-built intelligence during<br />
the run-up phase, for example by monitoring the output circuit to detect<br />
missing or faulty lamps. Extensive know-how gives lamps the perfect<br />
start.<br />
During operation the innovative ASIC provides excellent lamp management<br />
within extremely narrow tolerances. This means constant power<br />
regulation, consistent square-wave operation and particularly low current<br />
ripple, which in turn means long lamp life. The operating frequency of<br />
130 kHz to <strong>16</strong>0 Hz ensures that the light is flicker-free, prevents acoustic<br />
resonance and reduces colour temperature shift to a minimum. System<br />
luminous efficacy is also very high. The “Temperature Guard”, which<br />
shuts the unit down in the event of overtemperature, ensures exceptional<br />
levels of reliability.<br />
