You can install <strong>Tivoli</strong> <strong>Storage</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> client in one of the following ways:<br />

v Install <strong>Tivoli</strong> <strong>Storage</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> client on a workstation where the FastBack server<br />

is installed. In this case, the prerequisites are: the FastBack server, the FastBack<br />

shell, and the FastBack mount.<br />

v Install <strong>Tivoli</strong> <strong>Storage</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> client on a workstation where the FastBack DR<br />

Hub is installed. In this case, the prerequisites are: the FastBack Disaster<br />

Recovery Hub setup, the FastBack shell, and the FastBack mount.<br />

v Install <strong>Tivoli</strong> <strong>Storage</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> client on a workstation where neither the<br />

FastBack server or the FastBack Disaster Recovery Hub is installed. In this case,<br />

ensure that the FastBack shell and the FastBack mount are installed.<br />

Client configuration wizard <strong>for</strong> <strong>Tivoli</strong> <strong>Storage</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> FastBack<br />

The <strong>IBM</strong> <strong>Tivoli</strong> <strong>Storage</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> <strong>Backup</strong>-<strong>Archive</strong> client provides a wizard to<br />

configure the backup-archive client <strong>for</strong> <strong>Tivoli</strong> <strong>Storage</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> FastBack.<br />

The wizard is available in a remote application (the Web client) and in a local<br />

application (the Java GUI). The wizard helps you set the options to send FastBack<br />

client data to the <strong>Tivoli</strong> <strong>Storage</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> server on a scheduled basis.<br />

You can use the <strong>Tivoli</strong> <strong>Storage</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> Client Configuration wizard <strong>for</strong> <strong>Tivoli</strong><br />

<strong>Storage</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> FastBack on 32-bit <strong>Windows</strong> systems that are supported by both<br />

<strong>Tivoli</strong> <strong>Storage</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> and FastBack. The configuration wizard must be installed<br />

on the same workstation where the FastBack server resides, or where a FastBack<br />

Disaster Recovery Hub is deployed. You can use the client configuration wizard <strong>for</strong><br />

<strong>Tivoli</strong> <strong>Storage</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> FastBack with <strong>Tivoli</strong> <strong>Storage</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> FastBack V5.5.1 or<br />

later versions.<br />
