AUXILIARY LAMP AIM<br />

NATIONAL CAR TEST (<strong>NCT</strong>) MANUAL <strong>2010</strong><br />

Method of Testing<br />

Align the headlamp beamsetter in front of each lamp in turn, and determine the direction of the highest intensity of the beam<br />

relative to the plane on which the vehicle is standing.<br />

NOTES<br />

1. The agreed procedure if there are auxiliary and fog lamps installed: Auxiliary light – carry out in the high<br />

beam position.<br />

2. Where a vehicle is fitted with an auxiliary lamp and a fog lamp the requirement is to check both lamps.<br />

1 The upper edge of the beam is above the 2% horizontal line.<br />

2 The hot spot centre does not lie below the 0% horizontal line.<br />

3 The centre of the hot spot does not lie between<br />

the 0% and 2% vertical lines.<br />
