• Psychoeducation or standard <strong>in</strong>terventions that <strong>in</strong>clude <strong>in</strong><strong>for</strong>mation about the disorder,<br />

the treatment, tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> problem-solv<strong>in</strong>g and improvement of communication, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g<br />

family members or caregivers.<br />

• Family –s<strong>in</strong>gle family or multi-family- <strong>in</strong>tervention programmes aimed at <strong>in</strong>corporat<strong>in</strong>g<br />

the family <strong>in</strong>to the treatment, with a psychoeducational model, with tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> problemsolv<strong>in</strong>g,<br />

handl<strong>in</strong>g stress and improv<strong>in</strong>g communication skills.<br />

• Specific Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy Programmes <strong>for</strong> persistent symptomatology<br />

(positive and negative).<br />

• Community <strong>in</strong>tervention programmes –<strong>in</strong> the <strong>for</strong>m of Case Follow-up and Assertive<br />

Community Treatment Teams – <strong>for</strong> those people with SMI with multiple readmissions or<br />

reduced monitor<strong>in</strong>g adherence.<br />

• Therapeutic programmes that <strong>in</strong>clude alternative accommodation <strong>for</strong> SMIs complicated<br />

with other situations: homeless, great difficulty of family co-existence, extended psychiatric<br />

admission, lack of resources and frequent readmissions.<br />

• Assessment programmes and employment <strong>in</strong>sertion <strong>for</strong> all those people who wish to<br />

work, recommend<strong>in</strong>g “Supportive Employment” if the objective is competitive work and<br />

“Sheltered Employment” and “Occupational Programmes” <strong>for</strong> all the other occupational<br />

objectives.<br />
