Soccer <strong>in</strong> <strong>Frankfurt</strong> covers a wide variety of options,<br />

whether you would like to jo<strong>in</strong> a club or just watch a<br />

match. The poster boys and girls of <strong>Frankfurt</strong>’s soccer<br />

scene are the “1. FFC” (women), www.ffc-frankfurt.de,<br />

and “E<strong>in</strong>tracht” (men), www.e<strong>in</strong>tracht-frankfurt.de. And<br />

<strong>Frankfurt</strong> is a city of world cups: In 2006, hundreds of<br />

thousands celebrated the “miraculous” FIFA World Cup<br />

<strong>in</strong> men’s soccer, and seven ladies from the 1. FFC were<br />

part of the women’s national te<strong>am</strong> the won the women’s<br />

World Cup for the second time <strong>in</strong> a row <strong>in</strong> 2007 – and <strong>in</strong><br />

2011, <strong>Frankfurt</strong> will host the fi nal of the women’s soccer<br />

World Cup.<br />
