Francesco Parenti, a director since 1999, holds a PhD in biological<br />
sciences from the University of Milan and has conducted postdoctoral<br />
research at Yale University. He is currently a partner and<br />
director of Livolsi and Partners, a merchant bank. Previously,<br />
he was the Chief Scientific Officer of Vicuron Pharmaceuticals,<br />
Inc. (formerly, President and Chief Scientific Officer of Biosearch<br />
Italia prior to its merger with Versicor in 2003 which<br />
created Vicuron). A biologist with over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry,<br />
Dr. Parenti has served as Vice-President of Hoechst Marion Roussel, President (Europe,<br />
Middle East and Africa) for Marion Merrell Dow and General Manager of Dow Lepetit Italy<br />
and has overseen the creation of the Antinfective Research Center at the Merrell Dow<br />
Research Institute. He has also served on the board of directors of several biotechnology<br />
companies. Dr. Parenti is inventor or coinventor of about thirty patents. He is Italian.<br />

Patrick Langlois, a director since April 2008, was the CFO and<br />
Vice-Chairman of the Management Board of Aventis from<br />
2002 to 2005 and served for 30 years in various senior financial<br />
functions in Rhône-Poulenc and Aventis Group in France and<br />
the USA. Prior to that, he was with Banque Louis-Dreyfus. He<br />
is presently General Partner of PJL Conseils, a consulting firm<br />
in healthcare. He holds a doctorate in economics from University<br />
of Rennes (France). Patrick Langlois is a Board Member of Shire Pharmaceuticals Inc<br />
(UK), Scynexis (USA), Nanobiotix (France) and Exonhit Therapeutics (France). He is French.<br />

Hanns Moehler, a director since April 2008, is Vice-Director of<br />
the Swiss National Center of Neuroscience Research, of which<br />
he was the first director from 2000 to 2004. He held a professorship<br />
in the Department of Applied Biosciences, ETH Zurich, and<br />
in the Medical Faculty of the University of Zurich, where he<br />
was director of the Institute of Pharmacology from 1988 to 2005.<br />
Prior to his academic positions, Hanns Moehler served as a<br />
Vice-Director in the Research Department of Hoffmann-La Roche, Basel, Switzerland. Prof.<br />
Moehler’s research is devoted to the therapeutic neuroscience of brain disorders. He is a<br />
member of the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences and the European Academy of Sciences.<br />
Hanns Moehler is German and Swiss.<br />
