with a silver grill. Spec’d
with a CR19N cab, manual
gearbox, Xenon headlamps
and fridge to keep Travis fresh
and alert when he transports
his loads throughout the
South Island. One item spec
that caused quite a bit of excitement and surprise was the window
in the lefthand side of the cab. This allows for some fantastic visibility
and we’ve been told the extra light it allows in is awesome.

Greg from Camo Transport has just put this beautifully-presented
R620 tractor on the road and has spared nothing, from twin chrome
stacks, hand-painted signage to legend-series interior. Greg is
really impressed with the power and is getting great fuel savings
compared to his old R500.

NZ Couriers,
the truck runs
between Auckland/
Whangarei/Hamilton at night and around Auckland during the day.

Peter and Brad Douglas, of Douglas Logging, have just taken delivery
of their third multi-drive axle Scania, which joins a 6x6 and another
8x8 Scania. Their new 8x8 is a G440CB 8x8 HHZ complete with
Allison HD4500P
auto-transmission
and, like the other
vehicles, is used as
an alternative to
the log forwarders
getting the logs to
the skid site for the
highway logging
trucks to pick up
their loads.

Fitchett Hoggard Ltd have taken delivery of two new Scania trucks,
running between Auckland and Christchurch, pulling six-axle
B-trains and covering about 340,000 kilometres per year.
Hampden Transport Ltd, situated in North Otago, has upgraded its fleet with another Scania
(on scan plan max) with the deck built and fitted by Edwards Engineering, Balclutha. The
Scania, with its power and fuel economy, will roam the South carrying livestock, driven by

Ronald of Flash Transports has finally parted with his old Scania
R164, with1.5 million kilometres on the clock, and stepped into this
impressive looking R560LB8X4MSA in Mainfreight colours. This truck
looks impressive in the
dark with the additional
lights Ronald has added.

Gordon Dahm has put this R620 crane truck to work in Tokoroa. The
crane, an Epsilon S260L, can extend out to 11 metres and can lift up
to 8 tonne close in. The Logging gear was built by Patchell Industries.
