Tokoroa, A & G Sinton
are one of the first
to put a new model
Hitachi ZX280LC-5 to
work in the bush.
Kim is the operator of
the machine, working
mostly in the Kinleith
Forest for CHH Pulp and Paper loading trucks. The new Hitachi was
prepared for work with a new guarding package by Steel & Track, in
Tokoroa, and grapple was supplied by CDL.
Customer: Birchfield Coal Ltd Model: Hitachi ZX870LCH-3
Birchfield Coal Limited have recently taken delivery of a new
Hitachi ZX870LCH-3. The 4.3m3 bucket, combined with the ‘BE’
front attachment, gives good productivity, says Bob, the operator.
The excavator will predominantly be used for shifting overburden
in their Giles Creek Mine, near Reefton on the West Coast.

Luke and Aaron in front of the new John Deere 759JH harvester. This
machine carries on with Deere improvements from the 759 machine
delivered last year. The new model has the new nine litre engine and
also JDLink, which monitors the machine via satellite. It also has the
latest Waratah package, Timbernavi, which supplies up-to-the-minute
harvesting information,
stem details and other useful
information. The machine was
set up ex-factory, ready for the
head, piping controls etc., all
factory installed which has
made it a true purpose built
package. Cox Forestry Services
have put the machine to work
for Pan Pac forests, Napier.

Logging’s latest
machine is a
Hitachi ZX330-5.
The new dash-5
is working in the
Putere Forest,
north of Napier.
With new operator
comfort levels, including possibly the most comfortable seat in an
excavator, plus the nice, smooth controls of the dash-5, the doubleshifted
machine operators are impressed. Sale by Paul Roche.

The first John Deere 2154D in the lower South Island has been
delivered to Doug Anderson of Anderson Logging Ltd. After
operating his previous machine, a Hitachi ZX225USR-3 for almost
9000 hours, Matt
Brown, the operator,
is more than happy
with the lifting
performance and
all-round visibility
from the cab, which
has a 1.2 metre cab
riser. The machine is
fitted with a Duxson
grapple.

for Wairoa —
Robin Clapham
wanted a 20
tonne machine
to road his forest
holdings around
Wairoa. The
Hitachi is fitted
out with Factory ROPS and FOPS guards, which sped up delivery

This is the third Hitachi ZX360W for D G Glenn logging. The previous
two have worked well with the increased working radius enabling a
safer working radius for fleeting. This Hitachi has recently been joined
by a new ZX330-5 E-service remote machine monitoring is in action

Peter and Brad Douglas of Douglas Logging recently put a Hitachi
ZX160LC-3 to work in the Northland forests. Operator Anton, who
is rapt with the overall performance of the machine with its balance
and digging power, is
a bit of a lone ranger
with the type of
work he is carrying
out. The machine’s
primary role is to
reinstate the landings
for replanting once
logging is completed.

Model: John Deere 724K
John Deere are not only
helping make roads in
the Hawke’s Bay, they
are also helping out in
composting. BioRich
looked at replacing their
current fleet of loaders
with something more
reliable — the answer
came in the form of a John Deere 724K loader. The operator, Lance,
has really taken to the joystick steering. Deere have really grasped
what the operators wanted from a joystick steer, not only with their
wheel loaders, but also with their graders — easily making John
Deere the best solution on the market right now.

Pae Clark, of Combined Logging, has taken delivery of a John Deere

Elliot Logging Ltd have recently replaced its old Deere dozer with
a new 850J from John Deere. The latest 850J series has the PTO
option back and is faster than the old model winch, making the new
Deere-Allied combination a winner for Grant and Kere.

Cameron Wade from Excavator Ltd of Hamilton has recently
purchased a ZX200-5g to add to the Hitachi Fleet. Cameron says
Hitachi is the only one to buy and is very pleased with the new model.

crew in Northland.

performing shovel
logging as well as loading out duties. Combined Logging has a long
association with Hitachi excavators dating back to the UHO days
and is more than happy to continue the tradition. Seen here happy

When Grant Robinson of Fibre Resources Ltd wanted to significantly
increase their production in the Acacia Forests, they turned to a John
Deere 759JH. Having spoken to Grant some time after the delivery,
he commented
this machine had
doubled their
production and
more than exceeded
their expectations.
The 759JH easily
covers the extreme
terrain that is

is being loaded for
shipping to Suva,
Fiji. The machine
is to be used in the
flood rehabilitation project. Fletcher South Pacific have a number of
Hitachi machines working in the Pacific Island region.
