This is a small, intimate gathering of Sun City residents who meet twice monthly in Anthem Center on Monday evenings. The group is non-denominational and those attending are welcome to come as often as they like for whatever period of time they prefer. Meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous Greene Room- Anthem Center BIG BOOK MEETING Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. 12 STEPS & 12 TRADITIONS MEETING Saturday mornings at 9:00 a.m. Friends of Bill W. is a support group for those who wish to learn more about alcoholism from recovering alcoholics. We supply a brochure Look for a copy in the kiosks in the Anthem, Independence, and Liberty Centers. Or phone the number listed below and we will get you a copy. Offered through the Community Service Club Assistance Line 614-5862 ASSISTANCE LINE: 614-5862 Business Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday (no weekends, no holidays) Volunteers provide the following services: TRANSPORTATION: To local area medical providers or supermarkets. Three (3) business days notice required to arrange your ride. EQUIPMENT: We will loan you (on a temporary basis) a wheelchair, walker, crutches, cane, or other durable medical equipment. HOME MAINTENANCE: Assistance with minor home maintenance chores such as cleaning or replacing overhead air filters, replacing batteries in smoke alarms and CO detectors, changing overhead light bulbs or lubricating garage doors. HOME ASSISTANCE: Resource directory of information on fee-based, discount, and many other services available to seniors. Volunteers will also shop and deliver groceries or prescription medication to residents who are temporarily homebound. SUPPORT GROUPS: CSC sponsors several support groups to assist the residents of Sun City Anthem. THESE GROUPS INCLUDE: Cancer: 2nd Monday, 9:30 a.m. Greene Room Living “Well” with Disabilities 2nd Thursday, 10:30 a.m. Greene Room Low Vision Alzheimer’s Caregivers Bereavement (non-denominational) One-on-one grief counseling for loss of a child One-on-one guidance through Jewish bereavement protocol Friends of Bill W. Meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous Home Caregivers (for those caring for a loved one at home) Volunteers are the backbone of the CSC. We need your help! Help us now and we will help you later! Medicare Part D Drug Plan Consultation ANNOUNCING A SERVICE TO SUN CITY ANTHEM RESIDENTS WHO HAVE NOT YET CHOSEN OR MIGHT WISH TO CHANGE THEIR MEDICARE PART D PRESCRIPTION DRUG PLAN The SCACommunityAssociation, in conjunction with the SCAComputer Club, has arranged for interested members of the community to have a free, one-on-one consultation with a Medicare Part D counselor from the Nevada State Health InsuranceAssistance Program (SHIP.) The Medicare prescription drug program offers Nevada residents approximately 30 different plans from which to choose. Signups are voluntary, but if you are eligible and don't sign up within your eligibility window, you may be faced with a penalty if you choose to sign up later. Forthoseofyoualreadyparticipatinginaplanitisimportanttocheckeachyearwhetheryourcurrentplanisstillthebestoneforyou.Mostplanschange theirpricingeachyearandmaychangetheirformularyorotherbuyingpoliciesandconditions.Ifyouhavechangedthedrugsyouaretakingduringthis year,theprogramthatworkedforyouin2012maynotbethebestoneforyouin2013.(PleasenotethattheOpenEnrollmentperiodtosignupor changeyourPartDplanisnowchangedtoOCTOBER15toDECEMBER7,andisnolongerNovember15toDecember31.)
