PADDLE TENNIS
Great news! We are excited to be a proud
sponsor! Fuzz Frenzy III has now evolved
into SPORTS FRENZY Weekend,
October 13-14, a multi club-sponsored,
community-wide special event in
partnership with our SCA Health and
Fitness Committee! This special event is
now an entire action-packed weekend of
activities showcasing our sponsoring
sports clubs and the many fitness
opportunities available within our community. Seven clubs in
all, the paddle tennis, tennis, pickleball, hiking, bocce, table
tennis and ballroom dance clubs will be sponsoring events for
club members as well as offering our SCA community
members an opportunity to learn more about each sport and
mingle with club members.
SCA has a wide selection of health and sports related
activities, regardless of your personal physical abilities.
Our goal is to get everyone off their couch and into some
sort of physical activity. Our SCA clubs are the perfect
vehicle to meet new friends, get some exercise and
basically have loads of FUN.
Most sponsoring clubs, including paddle tennis, will be
offering free instruction and furnishing demo equipment.
You have no excuse not to be a part of this fun event
during a beautiful fall weekend in our little corner of
paradise. While you are at it, why not give Paddle Tennis
a try. If you become a new club member during SPORTS
FRENZY Weekend, many of the clubs, including paddle
tennis, will have a special dues offer just for you.
Join us for SPORTS FRENZY activities at our Liberty
Courts between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, or
8:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. on Sunday.

PARTY BRIDGE
Anyone interested in playing Rubber Bridge on Tuesday
evening? Get your friends on board and call, and we’ll
arrange the game!
The first annual Bridge and Barbeque was held in July,
with a sell-out crowd and raves from everyone!
Mark your calendar!
The first annual Oktoberfest and Bridge Party will be held
on October 15! Make your reservations now.
Location: Emerson/Franklin Room in the Anthem Center.
Games are as follows:
Rubber Scored Non-Partner sessions are Thursday
afternoons from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Chicago Scored Partner Sessions are Sunday and Tuesday
afternoons from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. With prior notice,
allowance for late arrival may be possible. A sit-out round
and/or play with a “dummy” are used when needed, so no
one need be sent home when there is an incomplete table.
Dues: $10.00 per year per person. Your first two sessions
of play are free.

Come make new friends, come see
old friends and play a fun,
fast-paced and exciting game of
cards. This game will keep you
smiling and laughing from fun and
a little frustration. “Pan” is a game
enjoyed by both men and women. A very
popular rummy-style game in the western part of the
United States and Florida.
If you would like to join in and learn the game, please call
Frank Eckenrod, at 570-7567. If you just need a refresher
course, stop by and see us during any play time listed
above. We’ll be glad to have you see if it’s the game you
remember. We’re located in the main building near the
Fitness Center.
