The Visiting International Professional Program
(VIPP) is a unique non-degree, professional development
program at Michigan State University
established in 1991. It provides opportunities for
professionals from other countries to study and conduct
research in a prestigious comprehensive university. The
relationship between VIPP and China started in 1995. VIPP
Chinese scholars, professionals and students participate in
the following three programs.
The Global Professional Education Program accepts
scholars and senior or middle level professionals to come to

MSU to study and conduct research. VIPP provides courses
in American culture and English language in order to help
the participants improve their communication skills in
English and understand various aspects of American life.
Participants can also take MSU academic courses. VIPP
also works with MSU Community Volunteers for International
Programs (CVIP) to help establish friendship family
relationships for VIPP participants. After a decade,more
than 100 Chinese scholars and professional have studied at
Michigan State University.
The Global Executive Training Program is a short-term
training program for various organizations and companies.
VIPP has collaborated with the Detroit College of Law,
Eli Broad College of Business, the College of Education,
the School of Labor and Industrial Relations, the College of
Communication Art and Sciences, the State Government,
the Lansing Chamber of Commerce, and various companies
to provide training for executives from China and other
nations. The short training programs are well established.
Each training program is designed to meet customer needs.
More than 700 Chinese executives and professionals have
participated in such a training program in the
areas of finance, business, public safety, higher
education administration, media management,
public administration, and human resource
management. VIPP collaborates with relevant
departments to provide training courses for the
program. VIPP provides translation, logistic services
and helps coordinate travel to other cities
in the U.S.
The International Student Summer Camp Program: In
recent years, VIPP has collaborated with Chinese educational
institutions to provide summer camp programs for
middle school students and college students from China.
More than 300 students have visited the MSU campus and
experienced a major American university. Students have
come from Beijing, Shanghai, Sichuan, Shangdong, Shanxi,
Chongqing, Liaoning and Hubei.

往 开 始 于 1995 年 。 来 自 中 国 的 学 者 , 专 业 人 士 和 学 生 主 要
参 加 以 下 三 个 项 目 。
全 球 专 业 教 育 项 目 常 年 在 全 世 界 范 围 内 招 收 中 高
级 专 业 人 士 及 学 者 到 MSU 进 修 、 学 习 , 或 从 事 个 人 专 项 研
究 。VIPP 为 学 员 开 设 美 国 文 化 及 语 言 培 训 课 程 , 帮 助 学
员 提 高 英 语 水 平 和 了 解 美 国 文 化 的 各 个 方 面 。 除 了 参 加
VIPP 开 设 的 课 程 之 外 , 学 员 也 可 以 选 修 MSU 开 设 的 学 位
课 。VIPP 与 社 区 国 际 志 愿 者 组 织 CVIP 合 作 , 为 学 员 安 排 “
友 好 家 庭 ”, 使 学 员 与 社 区 建 立 起 密 切 的 关 系 。 十 多 年 来
已 有 近 百 名 中 国 学 者 和 专 业 人 士 在 MSU 从 事 研 究 和 进 修 。
全 球 管 理 人 员 短 期 培 训 项 目 针 对 不 同 需 求 为 组 织 和
企 业 设 计 短 期 培 训 。VIPP 与 MSU 商 学 院 , 法 学 院 , 工 程 学
院 , 教 育 学 院 , 密 西 根 州 政 府 , 商 会 , 密 西 根 州 的 企 业 等
已 经 为 中 国 及 其 他 国 家 的 政 府 , 司 法 、 教 育 、 企 业 , 传 媒
业 等 成 功 举 办 了 多 次 短 期 培 训 班 , 都 收 到 了 非 常 好 的 效
果 。 已 有 70 0 多 名 来 自 中 国 各 行
业 的 专 业 人 士 在 VIPP 参 加 过 培
训 , 包 括 财 务 管 理 , 企 业 管 理 ,
公 共 管 理 , 高 等 教 育 管 理 , 媒 体
管 理 , 人 力 资 源 管 理 , 公 共 安 全
等 。 每 期 短 训 班 人 数 15-30 人 ,
VIPP 为 培 训 安 排 课 程 , 提 供 翻
译 、 后 勤 生 活 , 及 在 美 国 各 地 考
察 等 方 面 的 服 务 和 安 排 。
国 际 学 生 夏 令 营 项 目 近 几 年
VIPP 与 中 国 的 教 育 机 构 合 作 , 每
年 夏 天 为 来 自 中 国 的 大 学 生 和
中 学 生 在 MSU 举 办 夏 令 营 。 已 有
