The Office of International Studies and Programs
at Michigan State University established the
Office of China Programs in July 2005, to implement
Michigan State University President Simon’s
China Initiatives. This establishment is part of Michigan
State University’s long
term strategic plan to

Mission
The mission of the Office is to develop, facilitate and
coordinate the campus-wide collaboration and exchange
with China in areas of teaching, research, and consulting
service.
Goals
In accordance with President Simon’s China Initiatives, the
Office will pursue the following goals:
• Building strategic partnerships with key Chinese
research and education institutions
• Increasing MSU’s visibility through launching
transformative projects and programs in China
• Expanding on–campus commitment and capacity for
China programs
• Building cultural, economic and civic bridges between
China and the State of Michigan
Functions
Currently, the Office will focus on the following functions:

Developing Joint Research Programs
Facilitating Technology Transfer/Consulting Service
• Assisting MSU’s Office of Admissions in recruiting
undergraduate students from China
• Working with the State of Michigan’s China Office
to promote economic development for the State of

MSU China Office
密 西 根 州 立 大 学 中 国 办 事 处
The MSU China Office opened in the spring of 2006 and
is located at No. 18, Side Park, Jiang Tai Xi Lu, Chao Yang
District, Beijing. It currently shares its space with Sun
Wah Education Foundation. The China Office serves as
a gateway for MSU’s China programs and acts as the
local representative of the Office of China Programs. It is
designed to carry out the five functions as outlined.

公 楼 。 该 办 事 处 不 仅 是 实 施 密 西 根 州 立 大 学 中 国 项 目 的
纽 带 , 而 且 也 是 中 国 项 目 办 公 室 在 中 国 的 代 表 机 构 。 它 旨
