new career-high by collecting both his third and fourth INTs of the season,
the first multi-INT game of his career...Both INTs were particularly meaningful,
the first resulting in a 40-yard TD return (the first TD of his career)
and the second sealing the game in the final seconds with San Diego
driving for the tying score...Set a new single-game franchise record (since
1940) with his 116 INT return yards, besting the previous mark of 99
yards, held by three players...First INT came on the Chargers’ second drive
of the first quarter when he closed on a QB Philip Rivers pass intended for
TE Antonio Gates that was deflected by nearby LB Desmond Bishop and
landed in his hands...Eluded a handful of would-be tacklers, picking up
blocks as he crossed the field and swerved his way into the end zone to
give Green Bay its first lead of the game, 14-7...Second INT came with :33
remaining in the fourth quarter with San Diego driving for the game-tying
score...Dropped into a deep zone along the left half of the field and came
up to intercept Rivers’ underthrown ball inteded for WR Vincent Jackson...
Weaved his way back across the field once again, extending the play into
a career-long 76-yard return before being brought down at San Diego’s
6-yard line.
vs. Minnesota Vikings (11/14): Finished with four tackles (three solo) and a
pass defensed, as the defense allowed its second-fewest points (7) and
first downs (14) through the season’s first nine games.
vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (11/20): Posted five tackles (all solo, one for loss)
and a pass defensed...Tackle for loss came on a third-and-11 on Tampa
Bay’s second possession, when he read a shallowing crossing route by
WR Arrelious Benn...Broke hard on the play, nailing the WR for a 1-yard
loss to force a punt...Pass defensed came on the Bucs’ second-to-last play
from scrimmage late in the fourth quarter...Dove to knock away a QB Josh
Freeman pass intended for TE Kellen Winslow on a third-and-15 play with
46 seconds remaining in the game...Forced a turnover on downs after the
ensuing fourth-down play, allowing the Packers to kneel on the ball to
finalize the 35-26 win.
at Detroit Lions (11/24): Totaled four tackles (all solo) in helping to hold
Detroit scoreless during the first three quarters of the game.
at New York Giants (12/4): Tied for the team lead with nine tackles (six solo)
and pass defensed.
vs. Oakland Raiders (12/11): Finished with six tackles (four solo) and a pass
defensed...Made a third-down stop early in the fourth quarter when he
nailed WR Louis Murphy in the back, jarring the ball loose as it arrived.
at Kansas City Chiefs (12/18): Registered six tackles (all solo) and a pass
defensed.
vs. Chicago Bears (12/25): Led the secondary with 10 tackles (nine solo), a
forced fumble and his fifth INT of the season...Forced fumble came when
he dislodged the ball from RB Kahlil Bell’s grasp on a goal line stop in
the third quarter, but the ball was recovered in the end zone by G Edwin
Williams for a TD...INT came late in third quarter when a QB Josh McCown
pass went high and tipped off of the hand of WR Earl Bennett...Peprah
caught the deflection and returned it 21 yards, giving the offense another
possession that it would turn into its final TD three plays later, extending
the Green Bay lead to 35-10.
79 Ryan Pickett, DE/NT, 11th Year, Ohio State
2011 Season: Sturdy, veteran anchor of the defensive front who rotates
between DE and NT as a critical cog in the team’s run defense...Started
each of the first 13 games, but was listed as a gameday inactive at Kansas
City after missing the practice week due to a concussion suffered against
Oakland the week before...For the season, is tops among defensive linemen
with 51 tackles (23 solo), also adding two passes defensed.
vs. New Orleans Saints (9/8): Had a productive day, often splitting time
with DE Jarius Wynn as the down lineman opposite NT B.J. Raji...Led the
defensive line with six tackles (two solo) and was part of the swarm at the
goal line that stopped RB Mark Ingram’s progress and sealed the win as
time expired...On the play, shot underneath RT Zach Strief to clear a lane
for LB Clay Matthews and S Morgan Burnett to apply the hit to Ingram.
at Carolina Panthers (9/18): Started at LDE and recorded an assisted tackle,
helping to hold the Panthers to just 71 yards on 21 carries (3.4-yard
avg.)...53 of those yards came on scrambles or designed runs by QB Cam
Newton, but Carolina’s RB tandem of Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo
Williams were limited to a mere 18 yards on 11 carries (1.6-yard avg.)...
Appeared on 34 plays before he suffered a foot injury in the second half
and did not return.
at Chicago Bears (9/25): Started and finished with one tackle, but made
significant, if not statistically glamorous contributions occupying blockers
up front as the run defense yielded just 13 yards on 12 carries (1.1 avg.)...
Lone tackle went for a loss when he lined up over the nose and shed C
Roberto Garza as he moved laterally down the line of scrimmage before
corraling RB Matt Forté for a 2-yard loss early in the third quarter.
vs. Denver Broncos (10/2): Started at LDE and made a season-high five
tackles (two solo) up front.
at Atlanta Falcons (10/9): Led the defensive line with five tackles (one solo)
and was an integral part in helping to limit the effectiveness of standout
RB Michael Turner, who finished with 56 yards on his 16 carries (3.5 avg.),
including just 20 rushing yards in the second half.
vs. St. Louis Rams (10/16): Saw action on 31 plays in what was an excellent
collective defensive performance against the team with which he spent the
first five years of his career...Credited with two tackles (one solo) as part
of a defense that forced five punts, three turnovers on downs, a missed FG
and an INT en route to a 24-3 Packers’ win.
at Minnesota Vikings (10/23): Credited with five tackles (four solo) despite
being repeatedly double teamed up front...Made a no-gain stop when he
shed G Brandon Fusco and dropped RB Adrian Peterson at the line of
scrimmage on the Vikings’ final drive of the game, one that culminated
with a punt and allowed the Packers to run out the clock for the win.
at San Diego Chargers (11/6): Led the DL with six tackles (two solo) and his
first pass defensed of the season...Reached up to deflect a second-quarter
pass by QB Philip Rivers intended for RB Mike Tolbert on a drive that saw
the defense ultimately hold San Diego to a FG.
vs. Minnesota Vikings (11/14): Helped key a stingy defensive front that limited
the explosive Peterson to just 51 yards on 14 carries (3.6 avg.), his
second-lowest total through the season’s first nine games...Credited with
three tackles (one solo) during the game.
vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (11/20): Led the defensive line with five tackles
(three solo, one for loss) and helped calm a run defense that allowed just
33 rushing yards in the second half...Tackle for loss came on Tampa’s second
drive of the game when he shot between C Jeff Faine and LG Jeremy
Zuttah, dropping RB LeGarrette Blount for a 3-yard loss in the backfield.
at Detroit Lions (11/24): Posted four tackles (one solo) and also recorded a
pass defensed when he was on the front end of one of the game’s most
impactful turnover plays in the second quarter...On the play, lined up at
LDE, first engaging a block, but then sliding laterally into a shallow zone
coverage where he read QB Matthew Stafford’s throw and got his hand on
the ball, deflecting it high into the air where LB Clay Matthews was able to
come up and intercept it...As a result of the turnover, the Green Bay offense
would score the game’s first points two plays later on a short TD pass from
QB Aaron Rodgers to WR Greg Jennings.
at New York Giants (12/4): Led the defensive line with four tackles (two
solo).
vs. Oakland Raiders (12/11): Again finished with four tackles (three solo),
helping to keep Oakland’s powerful running game in check throughout the
afternoon.
at Kansas City Chiefs (12/18): Inactive (concussion).
vs. Chicago Bears (12/25): Inactive (concussion).
81 Andrew Quarless, TE, 2nd Year, Penn State
2011 Season: Promising young TE who had made noticeable strides
with his blocking and played regularly as part of various two-TE sets or
out of the backfield in more of a FB role...Played in each of the first four
games, but suffered a knee injury in Week 4 and was inactive at Atlanta in
Week 5...Returned to the lineup in Week 7 and had appeared in 10 games
overall, making two starts and recording three catches for 36 yards (12.0
avg.)...Suffered a severe knee injury on special teams in the fourth quarter
at the N.Y. Giants in Week 13 and was placed on season-ending injured
reserve on Dec. 7.
vs. New Orleans Saints (9/8): Saw action both as a reserve on offense,
where he was featured in the various multiple TE sets, and also on special
