LIONS AT PACKERS - WEEK 17
DOWN THE MIDDLE
K Mason Crosby has has 640 career points, the most in NFL history
by a player in his first five seasons, breaking the record held by
Redskins K Chip Lohmiller (625, 1988-92).
Crosby ranks No. 4 among kickers this season with 131 points and No.
5 in the league with 44 touchbacks.
Crosby joins Ryan Longwell (eight seasons) as the only players in franchise
history to post five 100-point seasons. Crosby holds two of the top
three scoring marks (no TDs) in team history:
1. Mason Crosby, 2007 141
2t. Mason Crosby, 2011 131
2t. Ryan Longwell, 2000 131
This season, Crosby broke Chris Jacke’s franchise record for the most
consecutive field goals made in the regular season. Dating back to Week
13 last season, Crosby made 23 consecutive FGs before his 29-yard
attempt in Week 12 vs. Tampa Bay hit the right upright:
2. Chris Jacke, 1993 17
3. Chris Jacke, 1989-90 15
Crosby has connected on 23-of-26 field-goal attempts this season, an
88.5 percentage that ranks No. 6 in the NFL.
It wasn’t the only franchise mark that Crosby set in Week 7 at Minnesota.
He drilled a 58-yard field goal in the third quarter, the longest field goal
in team history.
Crosby’s 58-yard FG at Minnesota in Week 7 topped the previous franchise
mark of 56 yards he set at Philadelphia in 2010 and earlier this
season in Atlanta in Week 5.
Crosby is the only kicker in the NFL with three field goals of 56 or more
yards since 2010.
FINDING FINLEY
Through the first four games last season, TE Jermichael Finley
appeared poised to set franchise records for receptions and receiving
yards by a tight end before he sustained a season-ending knee injury.
In 2011, a healthy Finley has picked up where he left off last season,
ranking No. 3 on the team with 48 receptions for a career-high 703 yards
(14.6 avg.) and seven TDs. With the seven TDs, Finley has topped his
career high (five in 2009) and is tied for No. 3 among NFL tight ends
this season:
1. Rob Gronkowski, NE 15
2. Jimmy Graham, NO 10
3t. Jermichael Finley, GB 7
Three of those scores came at Chicago in Week 3 as Finley became
just the second tight end in franchise history to catch three TD
passes in a game. He joined Keith Jackson, who accomplished the feat
on Sept. 1, 1996, at Tampa Bay.
Finley was also the first NFL tight end to post a three-TD game since
Gronkowski did so in Week 10 last season. Finley is the only TE with a
three-TD game this season.
By hitting the 600-yard receiving mark this season, Finley became just the
second tight end in franchise history (Paul Coffman) to post two
600-yard seasons in his career. Finley’s yardage total this season ranks No.
3 among tight ends in franchise history:
2. Paul Coffman, 1979 711
3. Jermichael Finley, 2011 703
4. Paul Coffman, 1981 687
