wszechnica ECC Lublin 2016
In November 2010, SPOKO Committee proposed its own experts’ programme, named Wszechnica
Miejska [City Open University]. Thanks to the support of the City Office, the group invites specialists
presenting good practices in the sphere grassroots and cultural activities. Given communities invite
the guests and organize their visits, and the City has launched a special program to finance the
City Open University.
wszechnica
programme
The aim of the Open City University is to promote good practices, effective solutions, to integrate different
communities, as well as motivate them to succeed. In the future, also the residents of Lublin
and the region willing to share their experience and achievements, will have a chance to deliver lectures
at the City University.
Similar meetings concerning city-resident relations, an informal “open university,” have been taking
place for a long time. However, it is worth to identify them as a separate, independent program for the
citizens, to support it financially and invite everyone who is interested in taking part. The Open City
University will go on as a City of Lublin programme, regardless of the results of ECC bid, as a project
supporting cultural development strategy and the city’s development.
The following guests have already gave lectures at the CIty
University:
• Antoni Porczak - professor, head of the Studio of Media Activities (Media Department, Faculty of
Sculpture, the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow)
• Melinda Sipos – the programme director of Media Lab Kitchen BudaPest (Budapest);
• Beata Urbanowicz – architect, city artist (Wrocław)
• Marcin Jasiński - The Head of the Unit for Cooperation with NGOs at the Culture Department
of the City of Warsaw
• Marek Sołtys – social activist, supporter of the disabled-friendly city (Warsaw)
• Agata Etmanowicz – manager, specialist in the fields of EU cultural policy, financing and implementation
of international cultural projects (Łódź)
