Advanced Health Education Center Ltd. offers a complete line of Home Studies to
make continuing education at home or work easy. The Home Studies are available in many
formats including print, CDs, DVD’s, and online. Our new “On Demand” Web Store has
streamlined the process of ordering and completing Home Study activities.
What You DO:
• Select the Home Study activity and method of delivery that meets your needs.
Method 1: US Mail (paper, textbook, CD or DVD)
A Home Study for delivery by mail is comprised of the course content which could be a booklet
of reading/reference material, paper, textbook, CD, DVD, or a combination of materials, and a
for the course. Certificates of completion will be mailed to you via US mail. The date on the CE
certificate will be the date the activity is received in our office.
Method 2: Online (web-based) delivery
This type of Home Study is completed electronically. Both the course content and p o s t-
test are available online, but may be printed out to read offline. When you have completed
the Home Study and are ready to take the post-test, go to the location of the post-test
(the link is in the email you receive when you placed the order), complete the answer sheet,
and click on “Submit”. You must score at least 75% to be granted creditfor the course. If you
have a passing score a certificate tab will appear for you to print your certificate of completion.
It’s that easy!
• Place the order online; by mail or call us @ 800-239-1361 we still answer the phone between
the hours of 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM CST Monday – Friday and most Saturdays.
What You Need to Know About Home Study CE: The Fine Print
CE Approvals
Home Study approval and guidelines are set by the ARRT. AHEC is required to follow these guidelines
as indicated. Per the ARRT requirements, Home Study activities can only be completed one
time. We do not make the rules for continuing education! Please do not ask us to bend them.
All AHEC Home Studies are approved by a Recognized CE Evaluation Mechanism (RCEEM)
for Category A CE Credit. American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA), American
Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT), and the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
(SDMS) are RCEEM’s recoginized by ARRT for approval of CE activities.
• AHRA and ASRT approvals are accepted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
(ARRT) and the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
• ASRT approved courses are accepted by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medi¬cal Sonographers
(ARDMS).
• ARDMS accepts SDMS and AMA PRA Category I credit.
• SDMS Approved Home Study
Certificates for these activities are sent directly to your email by SDMS. Once we receive the
graded post-test, we (as the provider of the activity), enter the completion date into the SDMS
system and the certificate is generated by SDMS and will be emailed to you. In order for us to
input your information into the SDMS system, you are required to provide us with a Registry
number or date of birth. Any of the following registry numbers are accepted, ARRT, SDMS,
ARDMS, CARDUP, or CCI.
• You are responsible for submission of your information to the appropriate credentialing agency
on your renewal date. We do not forward your credit to the organization for you. Your certificate
will be proof of completion of continuing education.
CE Approval Expirations
All Home study approvals have an expiration
date and are single use activities. Some of our
home studies are approved for one year others
for two years. Whether a home study is renewed
at the end of its expiration date is determined
by the material content and relevancy. AHEC
recommends if you plan to purchase a home
study to complete at a later date that you contact
us to confirm the expiration date.
