INTRODUCTION
# Develop a plan that identifies where each class
should assemble outside the building.
Upon activation of the fire alarm:
# Evacuate the building(s). Follow general
evacuation procedures detailed at the end of this
chapter, with the following modifications:
» Immediately evacuate building to prearranged
outside gathering places.
» Proceed to assigned spaces on grounds, away
from building(s).
# Evacuation groups should not stop in front of traffic
entrances, driveways, fire lanes, or other entrances
that may be used by the local fire department.
# Groups should evacuate at least 60 feet away from
a building.
# Call 911 or the appropriate emergency number.
# Report all fire incidents to the local fire department,
regardless of size.
Forest Fire
A wildfire - also known as a forest fire, vegetation fire, grass fire,
brush fire, or bushfire - is an uncontrolled fire often occurring in
wildland areas, but which can also consume houses or
agricultural resources. Common causes include lightning,
human carelessness, and arson.
Controlled burnings are performed for the prevention of small
forest fires; prescribed or controlled burning is a part of forest
management, since fire is a natural part of forest ecology.
Gas leak
A gas leak refers to a leak of natural gas from a pipe or other
containment. Because natural gas explodes when exposed to
flame or sparks, a gas leak can be dangerous. In the event of a
gas leak, the person identifying the gas leak should notify the
