will be selected by a panel of judges (Animals shown in milk).<br />
throughout the show. When the “Family Unit” option<br />
is elected, all animals owned and exhibited by any<br />
member of the unit must be shown under the “Family<br />
Unit” entry. This decision is final on the closing date<br />
for entries (August 19).<br />
If the “Family Unit” option is elected, an animal owned<br />
by any person in the group may be substituted for<br />
one owned by any other person in the group according<br />
to substitution rule 26.<br />
Partnership or Syndicate owned animals do not<br />
qualify under the Family Unit Rule. They must<br />
enter using a separate entry form.<br />
30. SALE CONSIGNMENTS - <strong>All</strong> animals consigned<br />
to any of the breed-sponsored sales during the week<br />
of the Show are eligible to be shown, and the entry<br />
fee must be paid by the sale manager. Sale animals<br />
are eligible to be shown by the buyer (new owner)<br />
unless the consignor reserves show rights which reservation<br />
must be announced at the time of sale. Sale<br />
Managers must provide the Cattle Superintendent<br />
with an official list of all buyers-names, addresses,<br />
and catalog numbers of all animals purchased-and<br />
all consignors who reserve show rights immediately<br />
after the sale. If a sale animal is shown, the animal<br />
and exhibitor are then subject to all rules of the <strong>All</strong>-<br />
<strong>American</strong>, including the release time for animals.<br />
EXHIBITS<br />
31. ARRIVAL TIME - The barns will be open to receive<br />
<strong>All</strong>-<strong>American</strong> entries 12:00 noon, Thursday,<br />
September 15. <strong>All</strong> Premier National Junior Show<br />
entries must be in the barns by 12 Noon Saturday,<br />
September 17 and all open entries, including sale<br />
entries, must be in the barns by 12:00 Noon Sunday,<br />
September 18. Pennsylvania Junior <strong>Dairy</strong> Show<br />
cattle may arrive at 12:00 Noon Thursday, September<br />
15. Most barns will be open to exhibitors to<br />
set up display and exhibits ONLY, NO CATTLE, on<br />
Wednesday, September 14.<br />

34. BEDDING - The show<br />
will not provide first bedding.<br />
Bedding must be provided<br />
by the exhibitor. A reputable<br />
dealer will be present in<br />
the Farm Show Building during<br />
the show to supply grain, hay,<br />
shavings, straw, etc. at local<br />
prices. Payment must be made<br />
in U.S. currency only. Powered<br />
bedding choppers or sawdust<br />
may not be used.<br />
Exhibitors may establish credit<br />
to purchase feed and bedding<br />
until 6:00 p.m. Wednesday,<br />
September 21. After that time<br />
all orders must be cash, check,<br />
Visa, MasterCard or Discover<br />
at each time of purchase. An<br />
“open check” or credit card<br />
number will be the only form<br />
of credit extended.<br />
35. TIE AREA - Exhibitors will<br />
be required to maintain their<br />
respective area in a reasonably<br />
32. BARN SPACE - Will be assigned<br />
by Show Manager prior to<br />
the arrival of the entries. Each<br />
entry will be assigned a tie space.<br />
Tie space will be spaced at intervals<br />
of approximately four feet.<br />
Exhibitors may purchase additional<br />
tie space at entry fee rate per<br />
space. Exhibitors must confine<br />
their animals to space assigned to<br />
them.<br />
In order to relieve pressure in stall<br />
assignments, exhibitors are requested<br />
to notify the Show Manager<br />
no later than September 2,<br />
if they plan to exhibit less animals<br />
than entered.<br />
In most cases, animals will be<br />
assigned stalls by breed and by<br />
state. However, every effort will<br />
be made to locate two or more<br />
exhibitors in adjoining stall spaces<br />
provided a request is made on the<br />
original entry forms(s), on-line<br />
registration program or received<br />
before 4:00 p.m. September 2.<br />
Requests made after 4:00 p.m.<br />
Friday, September 2, cannot be<br />
honored. Stall assignment diagrams<br />
will be located in the Cattle<br />
Superintendent Office and in the<br />
Veterinary Office. Stall assignments<br />
will be posted online September<br />

Exhibitors who tie their animals in<br />
spaces other than those assigned<br />
to them, without permission from<br />
the Show Manager, will forfeit all<br />
premiums won and may be barred<br />
from future shows.<br />
33. RELEASE TIME – Animals<br />

clean and orderly condition at all times.<br />
The storage of excessive amounts of feed, hay,<br />
and straw will not be permitted in the barns.<br />
Normal daily amounts may be purchased at the feed<br />
room or brought into the barns after 6:00 p.m. and<br />
before 8:00 a.m.<br />
The displaying of farm signs, banners, etc. over exhibits<br />
is encouraged. However, these displays must<br />
not block across the barn vision, interfere in any<br />
way with other exhibitors, or with the conduct of the<br />
Show. Neither shall they create a safety hazard to<br />
animals or show visitors.<br />
No equipment or decorative material may be nailed,<br />
tacked, screwed or bolted to any part of the Farm<br />
Show Building or any of the fixtures therein. Management<br />
reserves the right to charge the exhibitor<br />
for any damage.<br />
36. MANURE REMOVAL - Manure must be stacked<br />
in designated areas only, outside barn doors. For his<br />
convenience, each exhibitor is encouraged to bring<br />
his own wheelbarrow although a limited number will<br />
be provided by show management. NO trash, plastics,<br />
paper or metal are permitted in the manure.<br />
37. JUDGING CONTEST - Exhibitors must furnish<br />
and show their animals for judging contests as requested<br />
by show management. Refusal to comply<br />
with requests for furnishing of animals for judging<br />
contests may result in forfeit of premiums and the<br />
exhibitor being barred from showing.<br />
38. MILK from exhibit cows must be handled<br />
through the milk receiving facilities and the sale of<br />
accepted milk will be arranged by the Pennsylvania<br />
<strong>Dairy</strong>men’s Association. Exhibitors are permitted to<br />
bring their own units; however, these units must be<br />
inspected, sanitized and approved by milk room personnel<br />
before milk will be accepted from these units.<br />
Milk room personnel will not be responsible for loss<br />
or breakage of equipment owned by exhibitors. Exhibitors<br />
must deliver milk to the milk room or a predetermined<br />
authorized location.<br />
<strong>All</strong> milk will be sampled. Any exhibitor who is found<br />
