Milk Production & Show Ring Placing Awards<br />

Rule 1. Bred and Owned by Exhibitor - Animals are qualified when (1) the names of the Breeder and Recorded owner are identical on the registration<br />

certificate, except when the Recorded Owner is a member of the Breeder’s immediate family and has use of the Breeder’s prefix; or<br />

(2) the Breeder is listed by identical name among the Recorded Owners.<br />

MID-ATLANTIC REGIONAL JERSEY<br />

SHOW SPECIAL AWARDS<br />

JERSEY MILK PRODUCTION AND SHOW RING <strong>PL</strong>ACING AWARDS<br />

will be presented by the Pennsylvania Jersey Cattle Association. Special<br />

plaques will be awarded in each cow class to the exhibitor of the<br />

cow, placing in the top 50% of her class, with the highest 305 day, 2x,<br />

fat corrected milk record, completed by July 1st, on the original entry<br />

form in order to be eligible for the award. Exhibitor must present the<br />

current DHI or DHIR test sheet to the breed superintendent for verification<br />

of the record when the cow is checked into the show.<br />

Jersey Breed Special<br />

NASCO Type and Production – Trophy to be awarded at each National<br />

Show to the exhibitor of the cow with the highest actual 305<br />

day or less official DHI record. The cow must stand in the top 5 if less<br />

than 20 in class or top 20% if more than 20 in class. Dry cows are not<br />

eligible for this award. The official DHI record must be provided by the<br />

owner with substantiating evidence (the official DHI record report form<br />

or a statement giving the record, signed by the official DHI supervisor)<br />

when the entries are checked by the Jersey staff. In case of tie, the<br />

tying records will be converted to an ECM basis with high record being<br />

the winner.<br />
