JUDI COLLINSWORTH OUTSTANDING JUNIOR EXHIBITOR MEMORIAL AWARD The Holstein Association USA is sponsoring the outstanding Junior Exhibitor Award at The Premier National Junior Holstein Show. This award will be $250 cash prize and recipients are eligible for the award only once. Youth must exhibit their own animals in the National Junior show and are encouraged to be in attendance for the majority of the show. Selection will be by a committee of three (3), with a National Junior Advisory Committee member as chairperson. The committee will be selected through a joint effort of the youth programs coordinator and show management prior to the show. Criteria will include: Sportsmanship – 35 Points Applicants must represent the highest standards in good sportsmanship, display courtesy and congeniality to other exhibitors, cooperate with show management and be willing to share skills with others. Herdsmanship – 35 Points Applicants must demonstrate the highest ideals of animal care and welfare, efficiency and a strong work ethic in their exhibit and cattle and outwardly display working knowledge of this portion of the dairy industry. Level of Participation in Holstein Activities – 30 Points Applicants must illustrate their level of participation in HOLSTEIN activities on a local, county, area/district, state and national level. Not to be included are related participation in 4-H/FFA or other youth dairy organizations. **An interview may be requested by the judges An overall Supreme Champion Judi Collinsworth Outstanding Junior Exhibitor Memorial Award will be selected from the winners of each of the National Junior Shows. At the completion of the show season, a $500 scholarship will be awarded. Interested Premier National Junior Holstein Show exhibitors will be required to fill out a brief application to indicate their interest in being considered for this award. Bred and Owned by Exhibitor - Animals are qualified when (1) the names of the Breeder and Recorded owner are identical on the registration certificate, except when the Recorded Owner is a member of the Breeder’s immediate family and has use of the Breeder’s prefix; or (2) the Breeder is listed by identical name among the Recorded Owners. MID-ATLANTIC REGIONAL JERSEY SHOW SPECIAL AWARDS JERSEY MILK PRODUCTION AND SHOW RING PLACING AWARDS will be presented by the Pennsylvania Jersey Cattle Association. Special plaques will be awarded in each cow class to the exhibitor of the cow, placing in the top 50% of her class, with the highest 305 day, 2x, fat corrected milk record, completed by July 1st, on the original entry form in order to be eligible for the award. Exhibitor must present the current DHI or DHIR test sheet to the breed superintendent for verification of the record when the cow is checked into the show. Jersey Breed Special NASCO Type and Production – Trophy to be awarded at each National Show to the exhibitor of the cow with the highest actual 305 day or less official DHI record. The cow must stand in the top 5 if less than 20 in class or top 20% if more than 20 in class. Dry cows are not eligible for this award. The official DHI record must be provided by the owner with substantiating evidence (the official DHI record report form or a statement giving the record, signed by the official DHI supervisor) when the entries are checked by the Jersey staff.
